You people babbling about what you read here and there about John Romero should at least make the effort to hear his side of the story. Look up "Matt Chat" with John Romero from 51 to 55. He tells the whole story of ID and it's pretty awesome. It won't solve the mystery, they will always be the only ones to know what happened, but it's too easy to just go "Romero is a selfish bastard" when all you know is what has been the buzz on the net. Also, Romero had tons of talent regardless of Daikatana.

The next "Quake 5" must have the SAME gameplay as Quake 3. We like: new 3D engine, new video effects and all that stuff, because if Id software don't do that, everyone gonna say "This game is old school! Come on!". Id software must really focus on the same gameplay (including the "quakish" sounds and musics such as Q1, Q2 and Q3) I think. The Quake community really deserve it; to bringing back the same QUAKE SPIRIT, ambiance and gameplay like before but yes, with a new 3D engine. That's all.
