I believe you are referring to the Kurdish tanbour played by Ali Akbar Moradi and Ostad Elahi...which is totally different. So many names are so similar!
Transcendent as always. I still fondly remember his performance at Khartoum University after the '87 revolution when Nimeri was finally overthrown. What a night that was! Asbaha Al-subhu indeed!
