  • ouch

  • :(((

    which one is Paul?

  • Shame, BTW Dan Wheldon won this race, very tragic to Paul.

  • @mon5151 The guy that hit the already crashed car

  • @TheKellend

yea i know, i heard the commentator than. but thanks anyways.

  • @mon5151 The car that smacked into the Carpetner's car HARD

  • put an f1 car on, for example, spa-francorchamps or monza (2 high speed cicuits), and race it against an indy car and what do you think will win..

  • This announcer sounds like he's calling a horse race. This is inapporpriate.

  • For the LOVE OF GOD IndyCar. STOP RACING AT OVALS

  • @jaryd12345 No, make them saver! Make the Cars slower and dont give them enough Grip to drive the turns with full power!

  • @MrSchiedsrichter Reducing grip works at regular circuits... all you're doing at a super speedway if you reduce grip is making it more likely people will have crashes and end up being sitting ducks for the other guys who are still probably doing at least 170mph even if you do your best to slow them down. Oval racing isn't what open wheelers are about anyway, leave it to the NASCAR guys.

  • was paul the one who smashed and the carmera was on that car orte oher one?

  • @tyui571 paul is the one that crashed into the car at 170MPH

  • Dan Wheldon's accident brought me here. This was five years ago.

  • we lost Dan Weldon also Yesterday At Las Vegas :(

  • no-one's died in f1 for 17 years, safety needs to improve

  • @Max1m1ll10n1 In F1 there not going 225 Mph

  • @fhadgshfaj yes in monza spa

  • @fhadgshfaj That's hilarious considering Musberger says 176 mph. F1 is so much faster than IRL it isn't even funny. The straights on F1 road tracks aren't nearly as long as Indy or other large oval tracks and they still hit 200+.

  • @Snyder2112 F1 cars may be more capable but the fact is that IRL/Indy is a more dangerous style of racing in part because they do reach greater speeds. add in the fact that they tend to get bunched up, something you never see in F1 outside the starting grid and its pretty obvious that the F1 safety doesn't face challenges as extreme as those of Indy.

  • @fhadgshfaj because it involves corners, a concrete ring of death isn't really a suitable racing environment... f1 is a more exciting sport to watch (- the crashes)

  • @Max1m1ll10n1 its truely sad, but, to be honest, you cant really do anything

  • @bpham10 thats because your racing around in a concrete ring; 30 cars and 200mph+ = a recipe for catastrophe

  • @Max1m1ll10n1 well what do you want them to do? have a speed limit? LOL, once you start to slip, theres no turning back, think about it aha

  • @bpham10 I want them to ban it, its a recipe for disaster. I don't think of it as a particularly good type of racing, its literary driving round in circles; f1 involves a proper amount of skill. Its not the most expensive and most highly rated type of motorsport for nothing

  • @Max1m1ll10n1 ban what??, it was a freak accident, well, w/e you say, your words probably wont change anything....but you can give it a shot

  • @bpham10 my opinion does nothing, but i dont agree with oval racing, people only watch it for the crashes and they happen to be particularly dangerous because everyone is so close and there are no run-off areas

  • @Max1m1ll10n1 So, should we also ban drag racing, since it's literally people driving in a straight line?

  • @continentalrcinglg drag racing doesnt last for hours, it lasts for seconds

  • here Dana, now Dan... RIP....

  • wow what a crash :( rip

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 These guys need to be notified immediately when there is a crash up ahead. RIP Dan

  • @youneke they are notified immediately but at those insanely fast speeds even if you're a whole 5 football fields ahead of the crash you cant react and get out of the way unless you're lucky

  • @JackaryShow I know but Dana didn't look like he was notified, doesn't look like he eased off the gas even one bit.

  • RIP Paul and Dan :(

  • i meant to put 5th on last comment

  • today starts his 6th year racing up in heaven. such a great guy and i miss him

  • Man.....somebody was looking out for Ed...

  • R.I.P

  • Dana had hit debris from Carpenter's car just before impact, which caused damage to the right-front suspension and prevented effective braking.[citation needed]

ABC/ESPN's telemetry indicated Dana's car hit Carpenter's car at about 176 mph (283 km/h), while Scott Sharp, who was running alongside Dana, reported that he had slowed to approximately 50 mph (80 km/h) by the time of Dana's impact.

  • @Vadim28882 wiki much lol

  • @beastpwnr That's a terrible comment (citation needed).

  • Amazing Carpenter lived (sitting duck). In fact he was released the next day, and his next race was his best finish up to that time.

  • i heard that paul dana was split nearly in half at the waist from hitting ed carpenters engine and had sever neck and head injuries he never had a chance

  • R.I.P

  • Rest in peace, Paul.

The only up side to this was that Ed made it out alive...

  • Thats a shame, does anyone know his injuries that he sustained?

  • probably internal stuff from the G's he must had gone through. not sure.

    RIP

  • RIP

  • ed carpenter crashes into the wall and was then hit by dana, only dana was killed.

  • carpenter had serious injuries

  • well, he was released from hospital the following day

  • is paul dana the one who crashes into the wall or the one who crashes in the car hitting the wall??!

  • hey FUCK YOU!

  • This is the most pointless garbage of a comment I've ever seen posted. Luckily the internet is so anonymous that I can never find you, because if I did I would beat you until your face was unrecognizable. Whether they were a joke or not, keep the words you posted in mind for when someone close to you dies, so you can feel a much deeper pain than the Dana family did that day.

  • a comment like this could have only been posted that a scumbag like u that supports citeh, get a life cunt

  • I was at this race and watched this happen, rest in peace paul

  • May they should work on giving the drivers some brain. Such a violent crash under cautuion when everybody slowed down...

  • @villy27 maybe we should work on giving you a beating so you wont make dumbfuck comments anymore jackass

  • R.I.P Paul..The Indy car series is working to make there cars a lot more safer

  • it still dangerous but like nascar there still trying

  • he will always be remembered

  • may he rest in peace
