@cliipclop You were more concerned about holding on instead of form; I hear you loud and clear. I have been in, and seen this same situation before too. It's a scary predicament to me.
The same thing happened to me on my horse. We were going round the hacking track and we were having a nice little canter, when all of a sudden (she used to be a racehorse ) she took off at a full gallop. I managed to slow her to a trot before we got back to the gate :) xx
@AbbyAbbie99 Just because you have "better" horses does not make you a better person. I guess maybe you CAN get your horse to run faster without the whip, but you don't have to brag about it. There are beginners, and you were a beginner once, too.
@AbbyAbbie99 A helmet has nothing to do with being a better rider. It just means you're a risky rider. I know riders that aren't very good that don't wear helmets. I don't agree, but that's just what they do. Also, a whip has nothing to do with a horse being 'bad' or 'good'. There are plenty of good horses that respond better to squeezing and a crop than they do a kick. Honestly, I'd rather use a lite tap of the crop with a little leg than kicking them.
@AbbyAbbie99 Ur retarded, grow up. No one cares about how good your horses are. My gosh, it doesnt make u a better person if your like, "Oh haha my horses are better than yours!" Use your brain, 2 yr old.
lol sometimes the canter will feel like a gallop when your stirrups are too long because you're so worried about staying on that you don't realize how slow you're going.... I've done it before too xDD great ride, wish I could've seen it better lol
trust your mum to laugh, mine does exactly the same :-) A horse took off with me in the school for about 10 mins and I was really struggling to stop her, then she bucked and I lost my stirrups. Every time I went flying by my mum she was in stitches. Stayed on though, had to do some very tight circles :-)
@OrchestraIsAwesome your too funny. READ DESC. this was taken last year? look at my newest videos if you're seriously that bothered about my position. everybody has to start somewhere dear, and I don't need a child hiding behind a computer telling me how i need to improve -_-
@cliipclop I am terribly sorry! I did infact see your new videos, and you are a terrific rider, and I AM NOT JUST SAYING THAT! I feel awful and I should not base my thoughts of someone over one YOUTUBE VIDEO haha. And I understand horses have minds of their own too, and its not all just the rider. Please forgive me, I don't usually say things like that to people, and all equestrians are MY FRIENDS!! Haha. And I am sorry if you got a reply that said "Haha" everything i do is on an auto reply.
Haha im 12 and that happened to me on a 16hh ex racehorse and it was my friends but we had all of her fredns there and we were racing and it heard the sounds of their hooves and he took off and man i stuck like glue haha! I literally knew why he sped up so I wa slike everyone stop ahhahaha
I bet you was hanging on for deer life? haha Same thing happend to me on an Akhal Teke and golly they are fast. I so wish some one had been filming at the other end aswell so they could film the expression on your face hehehe. When mine jumped the gate my uncle was filming and I had my eyes shut and my mouth wide open! he threatens to post it on youtube if I dont muck out on Saturdays hehe Thanks for posting vid!
@cliipclop Your just crazy hahaha, you took off there like a proffesional jockey lol What made him just take off like that? did some thing spook him? To this day I do not know why my horse took off and went flat out and cleared a gate. nothing I could do to stop him he was gone of his trolly lol :)
Just a couple of things to say, firstly our Daughter had only been riding for just over 2 months, add this to the fact that Flax was a bugger to get cantering in the menage where she had ridden him mostly, this I believe was the first time she had ridden him out in the fields and was desperate to have him canter, perhaps towards home wasn't the best time though! our laughter when we saw flax galloping was out of sheer joy/fear/exhilaration that she'd crossed a milestone in her riding,
@MrUtubechannel1 You had to imagine, Flax was quite a good racehorse in his time, a Grandson of the great Mill Reef no less, and only retired through injury, he was once trained by the legendary Martin Pipe, his racing name was "Icare D'Oudairies". So yes, seeing our Daughter galloping toward home on a fully fledged racehorse was a very emotional, scary and uplifting moment, our laughter was a product of this.
I know you made the comment that you know your heels weren't down. But the way you said it made me want to say 'Your heels should always be down because they are literally your seat belt so no matter what (unless you're bareback) you should always have your heels down'. BUT anywho this was last year and glad you stayed on
@cliipclop they sound as if they're horsemen as well so they know what you're dealing with and apparently they had faith in your ability to stick on :)
