Has anyone else noticed that the name "RU 486" is a pun? Several decades ago the term "86" was common slang for "get rid of", eg. "So dad, how do I look?..."Good son, but I'd 86 that tie if I were you." So to name the drug RU 486 is like saying ARE YOU FOR (or against) 86'ing your fetus? I can just imagine the scientists who thought of this name laughing about the potential advertisement opportunities. "Are you for abortion? Well then you'll LOVE ru486!" :P
