Steve Stills looks sort of cool with that cowboy hat. Cowboy hats are cool, long hair is not. By the way, this doesn't sound at all like satisfaction.
Where are back-up vocals coming from? They can't be lip-syncing! I wish our music was in the pocket like this again, compact songs w/ good hooks and back-up vocals.
Interesting tidbit about this performance. The bass player, who had his back to the audience, was actually NOT a bass player at all, but was their non-bass playing road manager.
Neil Young at 22 yrs. old. Awesome. Loved that fringed jacket in "The Springfield". The first band with harmonic leads. And awesome writing talent. Neil, Richie, and Steve. "Long may you run!"
@RICKBLAISDELL Good question; could it be that he was a replacement for somebody who was either ill or had just left the band? That would explain why his face would not be on camera though his presence was required for the performance.
A number of posts here are confusing Buffalo Springfield members with The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers and CSN&Y.....Steve Still and Neil Youn of BS went on to form CSN&Y with David Crosby coming from The Byrds and Brit Grahm Nash of The Hollies. A number of ex-Byrds ended up in Burrito Bros but no one came from Buff Springfiled. A couple BS members went on to form Poco.
Buffalo Springfield consisted of Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, Dewey Martin, and Bruce Palmer, later replaced by Jim Messina. David Crosby was never an active member of this band. Stills and Young both played lead guitars. And often harmonized their riffs. This was a band that lasted only 2 years, but made it to the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" in 1995.

You have to love the fact that the government, schools, and the medical-pharmacological communites are all working together for our benefit. What is missing though is the military. Why can't the military come in and train the young kids to be soldiers starting in preschool. No more of this enlistment horseshit! The kids could be shown war cartoons for starters and be issued a helmet, fatigues & toy guns. If they are good, take their meds and behave, then they could shoot live ammo.
Many of these individuals who come from economically substandard situations have "behavior disorders". So in an act of American corporation (sorry, I meant cooperation!), these kids are being helped by a joint effort of the government, school systems and pharma-medical community. They benefit from three services. Medication is the answer to these "defectives" and once their minds "adjust" to the medication they can be helped for life. These meds will change their "defective" brain chemistry.
Good old America! The very best schools in the world. In fact, over 6 million of our brightest young minds are now benefiting from the advances of science in the form of pharmaceuticals. Are they being trained to be scientists you ask? Not exactly, but they are helping doctors to remain economically viable for centuries to come. 6 million of these bright young minds have been labeled as "defective" so it is necessary to reprogram them pharmaceutically.
you would think that the more people that heard this great song ,the more they would go out and buy the albums on cd,we would be happy and so would WMG.by disabeling the audio it is stopping people from digging it and making money for the company!! oh well!!! look at the pretty pictures!!!
WMG stands for Warner Music Group. They are greedy pigs who want to take things they DID NOT make, but bought right to so they could make money off of it. Avoid anything by Time-Warner and Warner Music Group. They are pigs.
@tremoloreverb god damm PIGS 4 sure, fuck the corperate world, im sick of this shit by a few GREEDY assholes, its everywhere and im fed up, fuck WMG pigs!!!!!
Does You Tube compile viewing statistics on You Tube viewers? Does WMG eat a big weenie? Are there too many traffic lights in every town and city? Does every town in the North have shitty roads? Is a Wal Mart "greeter" nothing more than a dressed up security guard? When you walk into Wal Mart don't you feel like you are walking into an Orwellian nightmare? Are Democrats and Republicans just opposite wings of the same bird? Does Sarah Palin eat large bananas for glowing health?
@rockinroller7 Stop shouting! I had this video with sound and all (well it needed more cow bell) it was great .. a really great video, it was. If you give me a hundred I can turn the year from 1925 to 1967. The guy writes about a site beyond ...com worth a look but I am going to bed..
@rockinroller7 Probably won't work but perhaps upload the same video with just the sound on another video with say just lyrics or pics and trick the censures. and play concurrently.
@rockinroller7 Neil was so often pissed at Steve. Neil has his back to Steve and Neil moves further away by design. Steve patter dances around to draw attention from Neil. Dewey rolls his eyes. Nah, Dewey doesn't even realize what is going on and doesn't care as he is just so glad to have lucked out and been in a great band.
@11xzxzxz I don't think it was Neil's anger as much as it was Stephen's.
Neil has never been a joiner, and he left the band, pursuing his own sound, which began an even deeper anger on Stephen's part toward Neil.
Then we were left with CS&N, and for whatever reason, that shortly became, C&N. I believe Neil and Stephen's "sounds," clashed, and the same with C&N.
As you can see in the interviews with Stills and Young at "Rockit," they have mended many fences over the years.
@rockinroller7 You are right. I was focusing too much on this video but now I remember you mentioned that Steve was immensely jealous of Neil. Just like you are of me!!.
What happened to “rockin in the free world!” Oh yeah, it’s WMG! You gotta love Neil Young! His heart is in the right place&hasn't changed a bit after all these years.Long may you run Neil, with your WARM heart shining in the sun! Work it Stevie baby, work it, Buffalo Springfield is great!Video would be much better with audio, but watching it in silence brings out imagination. Thanks! "Marlon Brando,Pocahontas,& me" Neil wears this attire in honor of native tribes, rock on Mr. Soul!
search out neil young "mr soul" on the warnerbrosrecords site on youtube...get it playing, then click the enlarge square & watch these images with it...or find other buffalo springfield song. i'm glad they didn't remove the whole thing & left us the images...(if they've redone it themselves, they could put that in their little NOTICE blurb so we could go look at it yet give them credit! :)
As old as this is who cares.WMG,thanks for screwing up my memories. I will never buy a new product from you .You are greedy jerks. Where else can we see old videos of old music. A--holes just do not get it.You are losing your customers as I speak.GOOD!!
WMG, You bunch of greedy rat bastards! May your wells all run dry, your women be barren and your crops all fail... and, and, and I hope your dog dies you greedy pricks!
Just remember one thing! Corporations are looking out for your best interest. Not theirs. Heck! Corporations built this country. They did it by always being fair and looking out for their employees. That is why 95% of the wealth is owned by 95% of the people. Good old America. Always looking out for the little guy. Good honest politicians whose only agenda is to help working people. I just can't say enough about how great America is..............

Thank you Warner for disabling the audio on one of the few live recordings of the Buffalo Springfield.
Pathetic.
What do you stand to lose by allowing someone to see and hear a low grade video of one of the most influential bands in rock history.
This illustrates why the music industry is in such sad shape. The record companies dont give a crap about the music, artists nor the fans.
Businesses that display such contempt for their customers are doomed to fail.
Shame on you.

God bless America!!! (Just America though, no one else)!
blabblab1212 1 year ago
You have to love the fact that the government, schools, and the medical-pharmacological communites are all working together for our benefit. What is missing though is the military. Why can't the military come in and train the young kids to be soldiers starting in preschool. No more of this enlistment horseshit! The kids could be shown war cartoons for starters and be issued a helmet, fatigues & toy guns. If they are good, take their meds and behave, then they could shoot live ammo.
blabblab1212 1 year ago
@blabblab1212 You are way too funny. Cheers.

These meds will change their "defective" brain chemistry.
blabblab1212 1 year ago
Good old America! The very best schools in the world. In fact, over 6 million of our brightest young minds are now benefiting from the advances of science in the form of pharmaceuticals. Are they being trained to be scientists you ask? Not exactly, but they are helping doctors to remain economically viable for centuries to come. 6 million of these bright young minds have been labeled as "defective" so it is necessary to reprogram them pharmaceutically.

WMG stands for Warner Music Group. They are greedy pigs who want to take things they DID NOT make, but bought right to so they could make money off of it. Avoid anything by Time-Warner and Warner Music Group. They are pigs.

WMG is now trying to promote "Silent Videos," just like the "Silent Movie," days, circa 1900-1930."
Sorry, it doesn't work for me.

@rockinroller7 Probably won't work but perhaps upload the same video with just the sound on another video with say just lyrics or pics and trick the censures. and play concurrently.
11xzxzxz 1 year ago
@rockinroller7 Neil was so often pissed at Steve. Neil has his back to Steve and Neil moves further away by design. Steve patter dances around to draw attention from Neil. Dewey rolls his eyes. Nah, Dewey doesn't even realize what is going on and doesn't care as he is just so glad to have lucked out and been in a great band.
11xzxzxz 1 year ago
@11xzxzxz I don't think it was Neil's anger as much as it was Stephen's.
Neil has never been a joiner, and he left the band, pursuing his own sound, which began an even deeper anger on Stephen's part toward Neil.
Then we were left with CS&N, and for whatever reason, that shortly became, C&N. I believe Neil and Stephen's "sounds," clashed, and the same with C&N.
As you can see in the interviews with Stills and Young at "Rockit," they have mended many fences over the years.
Peace.
