dont sell your kits on craigslist just yet, i started drumming april 21st 2006 and have played between 6 and 18 hours a day every day since then, if you wanna make drumming your life you could be better than me i mean shit youve probably been playing longer than me but just never dedicated your whole day to it EVERY DAY and thats what it takes

I dedicated weeks and days.....14 years....I listen to every genre of music I also play other percussion instruments as well.

If we meet one day you'll say I'm a drum geek lol.....everybody knows me as the drum geek.

For real? Not going chop happy shows low ability? I think this clip shows discipline because I'm just keeping the pocket.I was just playing a song.and when I play rock music I don't want to sound "churchy" or like a R&B drummer I like to play simple..believe me I've seen and met drummers that have crazy chops but they know how to play when they're with a band. .Check out my video I need new drumheads....skip the part of me talking and go to the solo.....if you wanna see chops go to that vid...

Well most of the time playing the pocket with correctly placed chops will make other band mates respect you and just knowing when to lay down a solid groove can get you more gigs....Look at Ricky Lawson,he barely played any chops and he played with Whitney Houston (before the crack),the yellow jackets,Phil Collins and Michael Jackson and many other studio sessions and tours.

Yes chops can be great but too much can get you fired.

What he was playing in this video fit the song. Just because he isn't flashy and works hard on his drumming doesn't mean he has low natural ability.

It means he has a great ear for music and is a great musician. Not just a drummer- a musician.

I disagree. It may be easy to play a simple drum beat. But to keep beat with a song is not something everyone can do. His drum part fits the song. Who cares if it's not flashy? YouTube doesn't require you to post something amazing. You can post whatever you want. So keep your hurtful comments to yourself you egotist.
