  • I like your color-coded targets...old eyes like mine should be able to see immediately where I'm hitting. What's the brand and where can I buy some. Thanks.

  • @applevalleyjoe

look for "dirty bird" targets over at Pyramyd Air. They have several types.

    Cheers!

    Rick

  • the gamo rocket or the socom tactical?

  • @cdoggy007

    I like the Socom better

    Rick

  • I have some questions... Big Cat vs Rocket... I believe that the big cat is a lil cheaper but both come with the same specs. so what will be the better buy? Whats the difference between the Big Cat 1200 and the 1250? I believe that they both claim to fire around 1250/1000

  • @noodle050

They are the exact same gun with different stocks..

    Cheers

    rick

  • @AirGunWeb

Yeah thanks i found out about it... Great show, keep it up.

  • What does the "pain in the second stage" mean. Sorry, I don't know much about pellet guns.

  • @AssassinSkills

I may have been talking about the 2nd stage of the trigger pull. It is very long and hard.. makes it difficult to shoot accurately from the bench rest.

    Rick

  • TMI

  • two q's

this or the big cat ?

and is there any way to mount a bipod?

  • @AcVENT1

same basic gun.. so either is fine.. as for a bi-pod.. no.. the barrel is very flexible it will not support the use of a bi-pod.

    Rick

  • Wayyyy down at the First comment the dude said fpe not fps..

  • @butlerjohn84

    good catch..

    Rick

  • All your videos are amazing keep 'em up!

  • @xXxQuikScopezPro155

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • How you doing rick. i was just wondering what is the diffrence between this gun and the big cat 1200? and if you had to pick one what one would it be?

  • @NLJR4

Wow.. sorry for the delay.. I missed this one.. The big cat and the rocket are basically the same gun.. almost all of Gamo's guns use the same exact power plant and barrels. the only difference is the ascetics.

    Rick

  • do you know of any low priced 22 breakbarrels?

  • @XB0XFR34K

Look at Teck Force or Bam if you can find them.. Gamo makes the Big Cat in a .22, and Crosman has their Titan.

    Rick

  • I'm still trying to figure out which Gamo Rifle I have.

Got it from my grandfather for my B-day a while back.

Black Stock, Flutted Barrel, and 3-9X40 Scope. Looks like this one, the Big Cat and other Gamo rifles.

    Know what I may have?

    Everything is stock on it...

  • @FluffyBoy32

Can you email me a photo?

    Rick

  • Does it have a rifled barrel?

  • @fredjustsucks

    yes..

    Rick

  • 108 decibels? Wish I could set it up to fire randomly all night long near one of my neighbors' houses. >;) LOL

  • i can hit quarter size at 15yds, and cans size 40yds 10/10, great gun

  • i really dont understand gamo's manual on the scope. Can you explain the scope focousing? supossedly you can focous the reticle with the eye piece. but i cant seem to do that. becuase if i shoot at closer ranges like at 15 yards, the picture would be focoused but the reticles would be fuzzy, can you help me out. thanks

  • @alienboy366

They include a scope that has is set to 35 yard parallax. This means that you need to be at least 35 yards away to get a clear picture.. closer in and you will have to trade clear picture or clear cross hairs.. Horrible system.. they need to include an adjustable parallax on every scope they bundle with an airgun.. This allows you to focus the scope to the range you are shooting, giving you a clear picture all the time.

    Rick

p.s. watch the next Take AIM Episode coming soon...

  • @AirGunWeb hey, I'm looking to get another pellet gun. but the problem is I happen to live in canada and because of our stupid laws we're not allowed to buy pellet rifles that are over 495 fps without a fire arms license. which I'm totally against. but hey, what are you going to do right? anyways. what gun would you recommend in the 100-230$ range? 495 fps! anyways. any tips would be helpful! thanks!

  • @Psycho12345123

That is a tough one.. I think that Crosman has a titan that is 495.. I'd start there.

    Rick

  • what is the difference between big cat and shadow sport ??

both rifles look like the same

  • @05Halit05

All of Gamo's receivers and power plants (with the exception of the extreme series) are the same (basically). They use different stocks and sometimes different features on the barrels but in essence they are all the same gun.

  • @AirGunWeb

    thx

  • @05Halit05 lol nothing magor thats just Gamo trying to stay in the market.

  • The only difference between the rocket and big cat is the stock color right?

  • @airsoftsurvivalman12

Pretty much... in essence the ONLY difference with most gamo guns is the stock configuration and barrel configuration.. The power plant and mechanics are all identical.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • ive had this gun for 4 months and have put about 1000 rounds through it and have experienced a massive power decrease. PBA doesnt even go supersonic anymore...what happened?

  • @LiveBreatheOutdoors

Give Gamo a call.. the seal went bad (common if you are shooting a lot of PBA ammo) or the breach seal, or the spring. Does is seem easier to cock?

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb

it doesnt seem easier to cock and i rarely use PBA...ive only taken about 20 shot with PBA. ill call Gamo. thanks for your help

  • @LiveBreatheOutdoors

With those symptoms it sounds like a bad seal.. the main seal or the breach seal. Please let us know how they take care of you!

    Rick

  • will that trap take 7.62 rounds just wondering

  • @bakergreen5

no.. it is a .22 cal rimfire trap.. max is the .17hrm

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb so it will stop a 105 mm round

  • @bakergreen5

not exactly.. let's not be silly now...

  • is there a plastic trigger on it?

  • @AwesomeAlex420

This one had the old metal trigger.. I'm not sure if I got old stock or if they are still going to use the older trigger in this gun.

    Rick

  • @Whiteboy7thst31

The noise level of the big cat will be about the same.

    Rick

  • @Whiteboy7thst31

Please be careful about manufacturing a silencer. (if you are in the states) It is against the law to make a silencer - a device that can be attached to a firearm that will reduce the report of the shot. It doesn't matter that you are using it on an airgun..

in the end, the noise from this gun is the mechanics, not the shot... spring guns are notoriously loud unless the parts are really well put together. Gamo rifles are pretty sloppy.

    Rick

  • @Whiteboy7thst31

a lawn mower is 100.. a circular saw is about 100.. 104 was loud enough to really bother my neighbors...

    Rick

  • i thought it was supposed to shoot 1250 fps but your description says only 1000

  • @danielBMXisFUN

It is 1250 (not really but supposed to be) with lead free pellets.. What they DON'T tell you is that they are NOT accurate at all. I had a gamo tech tell me one time that they considered a 3" group at 10 yards to be "accurate enough" with their PBA ammo..

    Rick

  • Hi what are the name of tthese targets that have colors and does pyramid air have them

  • @airsoftphil96

They are called dirty bird targets.. at least that is who makes them. PyramydAir has a bunch of different ones on their site.

    Rick

  • @HxBusines

hey there.. it is a typical Gamo rifle which means that it has some recoil and is generally hold sensitive.. as for how loud it is, I believe I mention it in the video.. off the top of my head I believe it was around 102 to 104, maybe as high as 108.. but you'll have to watch the video to know for sure.

    Rick

  • check out my video called gamo big cat 1200 & crosman model 1377 i have a steal pellet trap with a hole in it and deep dent nearly becoming holes

  • i read a review for this at pyramydair at rick from USA, im guessing it was you?

  • @BENJItrailNPxL1100

I'm not sure that I've posted a review on PA for this one.. I'll have to dbl check.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb oh, he posted similar specs, but maybe it was a coinsidence

  • ok i have had the gamo rocket for a few days i sighted it in and got it all set up and i can get a 1inch group at 70 yards great video but i dont think you got the accuracy i got so thx

  • @tron72mon

In the last group I got about a dime sized group at 20 yards. That is about as good As I expect from a Gamo rifle. Actually, Gamo and I have a long history of not getting along (I really hate their trigger). They have the ability to make some really top quality rifles. but not the will. (in my opinion) On the other hand, they fill an important need in the airgun community with their price point. In general I think they are a step up from Crosman.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @tron72mon i got news lat group i pulled out just a few minutes ago was an inch at 78.5 yards woot i love this i know you might not have had the best time but dude cmon i like your show and i understand alot of people give you crap but they obviously havent been out here or "there " to expierence the excitment

  • @tron72mon

Thanks for the very kind words.. when you pull out that incredible group.. you just want to tell everyone.. I've been there.. very cool.

    Rick

  • @tron72mon what pellets do you use?

  • is this gun any good

  • @x360xgod

It is a typical Gamo.. it shoots pretty good.. has some hold issues because it is so light...

    Rick

  • @x360xgod idk its amazing for me i dont know if that is just me but i love it

  • @123Peytonfan

which gun did I recommend to him?

    Rick

  • i just bought this gun

  • Hi rick I got a question for you, Cause you seem to know a lot about airguns.................Which brand its more durable Gamo or Crosman.....Because gamo does have poor quality control and some rifles tend to broke...........what about Crosman

    Thanks a lot !!!!!

  • heh ... i might just pick this one up

  • SC Pride!! Nothin' like carolina in da' Mornin'.

  • Hey, I was wondering if you could do a review on the Ruger Explorer Youth air rifle?

That would be cool to compare against the AirVenturi Bronco

  • @DaRubester

I've added it to my list of requests.

    Rick

  • Do you only do pellet guns, or could you possibly do the Daisy 840 Grizzly or the Daisy 5880 (or 880) ???

    Thanks, Tyler

  • @slowride55

I'll shoot and test just about anything they send me. I'll add it to my list of requests.

    cheers.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Hey thanks!

  • Bleh.... It's a gamo... i wish i could find a hardwood stock gamo, like the old ones

  • @denisaaj

They still make some.. but you are right.. it is not at all like the old-school gamo guns.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb when are the nitro pistons supposed to go down in price range? id love to put one in my mendoza....

  • @denisaaj

I'm not sure, but you can keep checking with PyramydAir. I did not know that you could put one in a Mendoza.. keep us informed.

    Rick

  • @denisaaj i was just thinking of it lol i mean, it seems that mendoza has some pretty similar air rifles compared to those using the nitro piston, and im not sure if it is, BUT if it is true that i could fit one inside, id really love to find out lol

  • @slowride55

hum... well you know some would say that if you hit it right the first time.. you don't need to reload..;) You should try the Gamo CO2 Extreme. Pumps like a 12 Gauge, holds 12 shots (or 10 don't remember) and shoots .22 around 600+ feet per second. You never have to take your eye off the game with the pump action.. Nice gun. I need to make a video of it!

    Rick

  • i made my own trap at school.

i just took a pretty fat steel and welded and painted it myself

  • @AAfireworks

    Cool..

    Rick

  • @AAfireworks That is awesome!! I made my own Bipod.

  • Wow i got mine 2 months ago and it was under 200. I live in Michigan and u cant order air guns over the web. the gun is loud and has a lot of recoil shooting is very hard 2 get on point but i think i got it... thanks keep up the good work

  • @sojer6mile

It took me a while to get it to shoot straight.

    Rick

  • @insanity763

They are really about the same.. do you like black or green?

    Rick

  • THANKS SO MUCH ive been looking for a review for like a month

  • @WhatNotToShoot

Sweet.... Glad we could get it out there for folks.

    Rick

  • Rick, your videos are really starting to look polished. The sound has improved significantly. To the rifle: at this price point, the gun falls into direct competition with the Crosman Titan. If you had to make a choice, which gun would you prefer and why? Keep those videos coming! Ted.

  • @EdgunUSA

Hey there Ted.. Thanks for the comments.. It is amazing what a couple thousand dollars of sound and video gear will do for you these days! We can all thank PyramydAir for sponsoring me for this last year. Without their support, I would not have been able to make the improvements.

As for the Rifle.. The Titan is in .22, which I prefer... My guess is that I'd pick the Titan over the Rocket..

    Rick

  • Rick great review, and great info on the bullet trap. I also have the 22 bullet trap works great.

  • Yo Rick check out my post on the gamo socom elite carbine. its not the best but there it is. I totaly love. check it out.

  • i would buy that for the accuracy, good price

  • @halo2snipers

Thank you for your kind words.

    Rick

  • I have seen this gun around and a few people have told me that they like it. I shot it once and the first thing I noticed is that Gamo is truly the best at making composite stocks. Such a great feel. But still definatly needs some help with that trigger.

  • @Outdoorsforum

    I agree.

    Rick

  • whoa mann. ur right that looks identicle to the big cat. But i get waay better numbers with my big cat. What do you preffer?? I say the big cat because with a new scope and trigger the big cat is one mean machine. Also the big cat has like 3 more fpe.

  • @dirtrox72

They are about the same. You'll get differences between rifles. 3 FPS is really nothing. I've had 20 and 30 FPS between 2 "identical" guns. The old trigger would be preferable to me as you could put the GRT III replacement trigger in its place.
