Donato Giancola is one of my idols, so this video is like Christmas and my birthday together. Excellent job on the cinematography as well. It is hard to adequately show the beauty in the love that an artist feels for his art.
Joan of Arc was transgender. That is why she was so revered by the people. She was burned at the stake for wearing her armor which was considered men's attire and to fit to be worn by women.
This is the second time i have watched this and i am AGAIN sitting here with tears in my eyes. This man is truly a living legand. Screw ALL photo shop users, this guy is a true master, the kind of artist that can reach deep within you and pull on your heart strings and bring a stir in your souls.
Once agian you have rattled my heart and soul sit. I tip my hat to you, hand my paint brush over to you and say that i am not worthy of being in the same spacce as you.
You sir managed in 10 seconds to make me remember why i loved too paint in oils, in 20 seconds you made me miss working in oils as though it was a long lost friend and in 30 inspired me too start again
@PijjenMedia3:46 are you teaching us how to milk a cow too? on a serious note, I'm wondering if the DVD comes with a Digital Copy of the painting for inspection for the viewer when they're done watching.
@lucaddragon The photo shoot itself isn't covered, but there is a section that shows him going through all the photos he took, and his thought process for picking and choosing the best parts of those photos.
Such beautiful art! I love Joan, it's a lovely depiction.

Can anyone tell me what the artist coats over the penciled image around 0:35?
OhayoTokyo 1 month ago
@OhayoTokyo It's probably some sort of medium (matt or gloss) to seal the pencil so it won't disappear or scrub away under the paint.

@OhayoTokyo Gell medium? I'll try it out on a sample tomorrow and see if it works.

Whats the point of that stupid effect that covers the whole image with a semi transparent rainbow?? Nice video, except for that
Givicencio 1 month ago 4
@Givicencio The effect is supposed to be reminiscent of flames, which is symbolic of Joan being burned at the stake for her beliefs.

@PijjenMedia Does he cover the photography and editing stage?
by the way, I cannot THANK you so much for making this. He is such a great artist but most of all a humble person. Extremely inspiring. Thank you.

Nicely done. Definitely planning on getting the DVD.
One question: Does anyone know the music in the video? It sounds like Explosions in the Sky, but I don't know if that's right or what track it is.
gryffonx1 1 month ago
@gryffonx1 The music is by Drew Barefoot, available on iTunes. If you like this track you'll enjoy the whole album.
