@MLGaebel Hahah thats fuckin sweet man! I bought a little omni for my winter beater car while i worked on my supra, and the thing runs like a top! Good for your dad man
@al2683 My buddy did that. Best run was 11.7 on drag radials. And that was with an undersized turbo. Next year he will be adding a bigger turbo and 100+ more hp. :)
We had an old omni with just the 2.2 and the 5 speed, and it was scary fast, so damn light and with decent tires it could corner like it was on rails. I can't imagine upgrading the suspension even further with a 2.4 SRT turbo motor haha.
@al2683 Yeah, I had an 85 GLHT which I upgraded the turbo, intercooled it and upped the boost. I could spin 2nd gear at 40 mph which was very scary to me. My buddy's car has Koni shocks and drag radials but still spins the tires on the highway!
@al2683 He actually took me for a ride just the other day and got on it a little bit. It pinned me in my seat and I got severe tunnel vision. He told me later he was only at about 1/4 throttle!
I have an SRT-4 but I also have the original, the 91 Dodge Spirit R/T. TOo bad I bought it totalled. I want to rebuild the motor and drop it into a Dodge Shadow. I think that would be a fun project sometime in the future. That is the 2.2 turbo motor with the DOHC Lotus head.
@al2683 A Shadow R/T. Now that is something Dodge should have done! I always loved the Shadow body style. I was very close to buying a Shelby CSX at one point but after a close inspection it was in very bad shape.
@carnypimp hey now.. i like my vettes.. but a super built omni will take any stock vette.. its just the facts.. kind of like any super built 10sec civic will take a stock vette.
Goes-Like-Hell They picked the perfect name for that car Omni GLH. I've always wanted an omni. I will just have to settle with my sleeper volvo for now.
