There is LOTS of oil left closer in especially in the ANWR. Being so far out in deep see is much more dangerous, and harder to fix. If we were aloud to drill closer in, there would be less danger and repairs would be more manageable. @MonoAoV the end is how the currents would take it out to sea. of course, oil is denser than dye, so it could very well take longer to do what the visualization shows, but it could still very well happen. either way, if it aint stopped soon, the entire gulf could be horrifically altered and destroyed and itll take decades to fix it. it may never be the same, but thats a worse case scenario. i hope im wrong, and the vid too

The gulf is 660,000,000,000,000,000 gallons, (Wikipedia) so at 2,000,000 gal/day it will take 330 days to reach 1 part per billion, which is safe for lead in your food, and oil isn’t even toxic, and you admit that the oil isn’t even staying in the gulf so now you have to mess up the whole Atlantic ocean, and it’s biodegradable.
Do your own math & figure out the actual physical volume of the oil spilled.

The oil most likely will not travel as far as is said it will, unless of course it keeps leaking. I live in jax florida and tar balls are being found already. But from what I have heard the oil will disperse into barely notthing before reaching deep sea. No one but america is fucked. @HalDanGhor Electric cars are not the answer. Over 50% of the electricity in this country is generated by burning oil to fire up steam and spin turbines. Burning coal creates just as much CO2 and tons more sulfur dioxide, which eventually becomes sulfuric acid in the clouds and results in acid rain.

IDK about that flame war down in the comments, but Obama is not doing anything to fix the situation. You have to stop the leak before cleaning it up, otherwise you are wasting time. Obama wants to ban deep sea drilling before stopping the current leak. Oh, the reason the rigs are in deep sea is because they were forced out there by tree hugger asshats that think a rare fish MIGHT be harmed from an oil spill if the rig were to break. @spamvigilante Does the Arctic Natural Wildlife Reserve ring a bell? I am all for drilling, we are not drilling deep sea because the close stuff is all dried up. There is LOTS of oil left closer in especially in the ANWR. Being so far out in deep see is much more dangerous, and harder to fix. If we were aloud to drill closer in, there would be less danger and repairs would be more manageable. The oil spill just shows that forcing drilling so far out didnt help like environmentalists thought
