I live near appleton and your right, last week during that massive storm in wisconsin I saw a duck swim on my lawn! i went to the fox river to see it today, it's still pretty f***ed up.

Come on, people. It's a man made lake. We'll make it again. They drained it in 1982 to clean it up and dredge it out a little, then filled it up again. Too bad this didn't happen in the off season, but things will get back to normal. I think the lake was created in 1929. By 2009, if not sooner, the lake will be there again.

I heard it won't be done filling until May. That seems like it's going to take an awfully long time to fill, but I think when they drained it in '82 they didn't drain it completely, so it took less time to fill. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and took a walk in the bottom of the lake again. It might be the last time in my lifetime that I see that lake without any water in it. (Let's hope so anyway).
