Stewart had more speed intially, but his endurance didn't last as long as RC, so towards the ends of the races, RC was faster because he was in better shape. JS always puts down the fastest early lap times, but he wasn't able to maintain it against RC. Once RC retired, there was no competition for JS unil Chad Reed, and Now Dungey.

@eastVal09 I did my homework, when Stewart first got on to a 4 stroke 450, from 2 stroke 250 he beat Carmichael in the supercross season and went on to conplete a perfect outdoor motocross season... He's not a more succsessfull rider but he is the faster rider... And to that one fag who said Rick johnson is faster, he woul get smacked around by Stewart, he was only the fastest of his time.. He wouldn't cut it anymore..

I seem to remember seeing JS get smacked around by Dungey a couple weeks ago and then JS pulling off the track in tenth place in the second moto.....even though he had the fastest qualifying times, his endurance isn't there anymore. Hopefully he'll get it back because Dungey is so smooth, and in great shape.
