They say to effectively double your range you must increase signal by 6db. That is outdoor LOS. Indoors they say 9db. So to match this claim, these directional antennas must be at least 9dbi higher than the omni-directional it was compared against (5dbi?). I'm sure it improves things, but to improve the SN ratio along with received signal strength 9 db over a 5dbi antenna might be a little generous.
Great Video! I like the light bulb analogy! I will definitely use that to help teach and inform customers.

Directional also reduces the effects of multipath interference, at least that's according to the CWNA coursework I'm studying!
