  • awesome dude! i can tell you're feelin it

  • effects?

  • Good example of this little known song.

  • Good stuff

  • Great playing, I seriously don’t understand how people complain about this video, this is fucking incredible! Keep it up man ;)

  • from 5:20 on! quality!!

  • Please....to everyone who posts their version of someone else's song...PUT YOUR NAME FIRST. That way, when I want to see the real Hendrix, I don't have to filter through ten thousand other people's imitations. I know this is a place to "broadcast yourself" but it's getting really old. It's nothing against the musicians. Some of you are really very good no doubt, BUT YOU ARE NOT JIMI HENDRIX!! STOP MISREPRESENTING YOUR CLIP!!

  • @MrRealtunes get a life, this guy is awesome

  • I think you do a great job dude. You take a lot of care to get the proper sound. I think really the only way to get the proper animal-growl that Hendrix got is to use a Marshall tube amp turned up to 11. Though that kind of hardware doesn't come cheap.

  • Man my biggest dream is to be able to play this song!

and u do it! :D nice! very good mate!!! go out and take over the world plz.

  • beautiful

  • dude, you fuckin' nailed it!

  • é isso ai tiozinho bota pra fude

  • dude man nice playin what are the chords

  • awesome!

  • Daaaamn love the jimi tone! :)

  • wow

  • Very nice. So many guitar players fail to put their heart into it on you tube. You did not fail in that. I put my heart into my playing myself. I'm just not that good. ha ha. Great job. You can easily make a living at this.

  • nice & fuck the haters!

  • hes got a better one than u

  • I second that haha :D

  • Got the Jimmi vibe ...Nice

  • Very very nice. Love the sound man. But i do have a question...the stuff on the white board behind you...Are those Partial Differential Equations? lol

  • haha yep, Maxwell's Relations :)

  • Hahahah sweeet. I remember those days lol, except i didnt study Maxwell's Relations instead studied Navier-Stokes Equations :|. But ya man, very nice job, keep it bro!

  • yep, maxwell's for thermodynamics, navier-stokes for fluid dynamics!

  • pretty bad ass to hold that in time

  • continua assim puto bom som

  • this is good but IM SICK OF SEARCHING FOR HENDRIX AND GETTING FUCKING TRIBUTES COMING UP INSTEAD

  • great!!!

  • this is very very good playing ur the reincarnation of hendrix in a way lol

    great work

  • kick ass playing.

  • I'm buying a fucking fuzz face now.

  • Christ! I think Jimi is channeling through you! Brilliant dude. Just brilliant. Tone and everything is there. Just wow!

  • I made my own, but I'm sure his pedal is great!

  • how did u make an octavia

  • Holy shit ! lol !

  • i enjoyed this video so much.... :)

  • I like the dry erase board. Now you gotta use some drum sticks and do it sonic youth style.

  • sweet

  • Amazing!

  • Yup, some times you just gotta use the teeth. Take a bite.

  • ah ok awesome... I had to know :D

  • a white board like in the big band theory lol. I know I may regret this but what physics stuff exactly. I don't even know y im interested but I am. Oh and great cover lol

  • thermodynamics - maxwell relations

  • Well done

  • such a great cover

  • Not bad at all kid!!!! now smash your idols.

  • This is one of Hendrix's underplayed gems, & you play it w/ a pretty kickass style, Man. Doin' Jimi proud.

  • I've always wanted 2 ask this....but what do u write on your white board behind you?

  • that's all physics problems and stuff!

  • well done!

  • Time for another bow and I don't mean to kick (ehhhhh...kiss..) your ass - I know, I know, you mentioned that you could do better. And I do believe you. Yet, for a " just consumer" and bedroom player like me this is as good as it can get. Therefore, once more - rightfully - 10 thmubs up (;-) for one of my all time favorites on youtube,

  • oops, what i meant was what amp were you using? the fender or marshall?

  • fender hot rod deville

  • When you kick in to the lead break what effect are you using?...I kmow you've put a list in the description but I'm a bit thick you know.

  • you must have a killer band in your head...

    very nice

    peace and thank you

  • which were you using for this video?

  • what are you talking about?

  • This is the best I've heard someone channel hendrix in a while (and on a rosewood neck at that)

    Bravo man!

  • Very well done! Great playing, inspires my to practice more =D

  • gud shit

  • I guess I already said everything long time ago. Anyway, this is and will be my fav of yours, James. You once told me, you could so much better. Maybe, yes, however, if that's true, you got big shoes to fill - your own ones.

Personally, I think this is as good as it gets.

  • Good stuff- in some ways ur better than jimi (speed techniques) but I'm not hearing YOUR voice on this. Just aping jimi's (although quite well). Do YOUR thing- I think your tone can come up a long way- u maybe limited by your gear and the sheer volume needed to play like jimi.

  • mbible- it's ME playing. therefore, it's MY thing. savvy?

  • hendix is alive and well in mr jamez.....u got it .....play on guitar man,,,,,,,yeah

  • net schlecht.

  • so good

  • James dude I don't compliment solos often but you've got an excellent response to the ezabella rythem. Really got me excited. Do you ever gig?

  • every now and then!

  • Definitely one of my favorite Jimi songs.

  • This strat sound makes everybody talking about lsd :o !!!

    GREAT SOUND

  • Nice.

  • Well, it was brilliant dear friend. When talking about drugs and thae, forget not "coleridge" and "Mozart", and a million others who give of their gifts and light! Love Dave.

  • drugs didn't make em better-- cut their lives, their gifts and their light short, hendrix and mozart included

  • Pills took hendrix out. You can't deny though that drugs do create an elevated state and will make you play differently sometimes even better but there isn't anyway to test that right?

  • i thought it was pills and alcohol together, but i could be wrong. drugs can of course alter your state of consciousness-- that's what makes em drugs-- an some states can be described as "elevated". However, I doubt that they can make you play better, and you seem to think they can. Now, the question of testing which hypothesis is correct is interesting. One night of jamming while tripping certainly wouldn't do it. A study would be required, with suitable controls for the variables.

  • It's not that techniq

  • Its not that it makes you better going drugs in playing. I mean that by doing drugs you change the chemical composition of the mind giving you phrasing that is different. Right on? I dont advocate it. I like Miles Davis and the way he approached music.

  • well, you seem to agree that drugs don't make you better at playing the guitar, and that's really my main point. drugs do change the chemical composition of the brain, and that will of course effect your playing. Will it make it better? You seem to agree that it won't. btw, I LOVE Miles, and 'Trane even more.

  • you can really play!

don't buy all this crap you are hearing about acid-- there's a reason they call it being fucked up

  • Excellent .... if this is without drugs......hooraa!!!! Acid can enhance responses but it better when they are real man. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • acid does NOT you a better guitar player!

  • Talk about some funk tones. I love the intro.

  • rene - right on!

  • LSD is absolutely not addictive. NO ONE could live through being constantly tripping. I know. I have done plenty of it, none in the past 35 years. I certainly do not advocate its use. But honestly, I am 1) no worse for the experience, and 2) grateful, in a way, for seeing something, experiencing things others only imagine. I saw colors I have not seen since, and heard sounds that were both awesomely beautiful and terribly frightening. Would I want my son to do it? Absolutely not.

  • But man, It sure had its moments.

LSD is not addictive. It wears you out, so you have to dry out. And then you don't want to do it any more. This is ACID only I am talking about. Believe it, or don't. However, there is an after-effect, not from the drug, but memories of the experience linger, for sure, and depression does get some weaker people. BTW I went on to finish college, and owned a pretty successful business in California. Now am retired. Hey decent guitar work too.

  • yankee - great perspective :) thank ya for sharing!

  • "depression gets some weaker people"-- that comment makes you an ignorant asshole-- people with bad reations to drugs aren't "weak"!-- people with depression aren't "weak"! It is exactly like saying that diabetes does get some weaker people! Or cancer!

Great, so you went on to finish college and owned a successful business-- doesn't mean that acid hasn't ruined lives. It has. Drugs suck.

  • The fact I had experiences you never will means I am not ignorant. Weak people get addicted. TRUTH. Frankly, I think my acid trips were great fun mostly. If you don't want to drink, don't buy beer. If you don't want to do drugs, more power to you, so don't buy 'em. You suck.

  • I did not say that you are ignorant because you took acid, or had experiences, I said that you are ignorant because of what you said. Addiction is simply not well-described as a weakness; that is an old normative description that simply flies in the face of current science. It is not TRUTH. It is comparable to saying that the earth is flat, plus with the added bonus of saying that people are morally defiecent if they believe otherwise. Fuck you. I've tripped, but I'm not addicted, either.

  • Thanks for proving my point. I think you are morally deficient. Get help, and have a nice day. You sound violent.

  • Check out jwwetzel's comment and educate yourself. Do you think diabetes is a moral weakness also?

  • yankee-this "weakness" is the biological structure of an individual. In pharmacology, the reaction across a population must be within strict tolerances. LSD cannot be held to such precision. The results of a single dosage can very wildly from person to person. This is why it is a dangerous drug. It is ignorant to use a bad trip as a way to gauge someone's emotional strength. It is best not to play with a fire many still don't understand. You can use it to cook dinner, or burn your house down.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Exactly right.

  • it is all control. read some Tim Leary. Carry no baggage on your trip and realize it's just a drug and will (eventually) be over. LSD got me off of heroin, so I am forever grateful. It is in no way, form or fashion addictive, just fun as hell...and kinda crazy at times

  • Glad you got over herion-- but I doubt that acid did it.

Anything can be addictive, including acid.

Acid is one of the most unpredictable, powerful and dangerous drugs around.

  • haha, you guys sound like kids trying to put acid in some sort of box.

its just a direct reflection of you. if you have a bad trip, thats most likely a trip you need to have to realize some things. LSD will show you insecurities ten folds, and if you can't face the truth, you probably won't try it again.

it's has all to do with people and almost nothing to do with the drug.

  • It has to do with biochemistry more than anything else. Get educated; the line your pushing is crap.

  • set and setting

    that is all

  • originalname - and your field of study is...neurobiology?

  • heh

these people just look way to far into this stuff is all, no big deal.

  • Couldn't we state that the depth of study is proportional to the amount of understanding? Wouldn't the wiser of the two be the one who got their hands dirty with the concepts?

  • definitely, though. I agree with what your notion, but I was talking about strictly LSD. whoever said you can't study psychedelics in-depth without thinking it up yourself?

the best advice I could give somebody about handling LSD is...don't handle it. let the LSD handle you.

  • my best advice is don't do it-- it won't enhance your playing

  • unfortunately, understanding doesn't always come with study...but i still think we should try... the wiser is he who knows that he doesn't know

  • that's Tim Leary's line and it's crap-- LSD is unpredictable for those variables, and under a lot of other variables as well

  • I should have asked this earlier, have you done acid? or as they say, "are you experienced"?

  • yes, and it wasn't a bad trip, but that's irrelevant

  • "it"? as in only one trip?

I would be a liar if I told you that surprised me
