Bad Beat - When you commit your chips at a time when you are a big favourite and end up losing.
Cooler - When you have a hand that would win a very high percentage of the time but are up against an even stronger hand.
Sometimes you commit a lot of chips as big favourite but they make their hand on the river and it could be considered a bad beat or a cooler. This is a clear cooler, though.
@Kluris66. The Carbon bad beat jackpot pays out on losing hands of 7777 or better, so yes you are totally correct a straight flush would count and is of course a bad beat in this promos context, but you can also get the bonus with hands less than 4 tens i.e. 7777, 8888, 9999.
The latest Bad Beat bonus went 2 days ago at over 400k meaning Carbon have paid out over $3.25m in the last 12 months on this bonus! Its now reseeded and already gone to $100k, and the great thing is you just need to be dealt some cards at the table to get paid even if you arent involved in the pot at the end, which is why PokerBunny didnt get a cent, because he decided to sit out to save paying his $1 blind to early :-)
@Artyst18 - Yeah poor old Pokerbunny was totally gutted. Hard to let it go mentally when you're the only one to miss out on the jackpot especially when he'd been chasing it for ages by playing the bad beat tables. I certainly always pay my blinds immediately on BB tables now :-)
A few weeks ago Carbons next Bad Beat bonus went but the pay out was 600k, and then bizarrely this week the next one went only 10 days later and so the payout was 250k - Quad Kings got beaten by a Royal Flush. The other spooky thing was it went on the same table. Anyway its now been reseeded again but will take some time to rise to those big levels again, especially if it keeps getting won
If you lose with 7777 or better then it is classed as a bad beat for the purposes of the bad beat bonus on Carbon. Any way it seems to me that Pokerbunny was the guy who ended up feeling like he'd had the bad beat as he was the only one who didnt get any of the money lol

keeping in mind if pokerbunny played, the cards would (or at least should) have been dealt differently, and no jackpot for anybody!

losing with a straight flush is a bad beat.
and rules are that if u lose with a hand that is atleast 4 tens it will trigger the jackpot.
numbers is not what matters.
if u dont agree its a bad beat to lose with a straight flush u really dont understand the game.

@Kluris66 It's not a bad beat, it's a cooler.

Wow, straight flush over straight flush... but how is that a bad beat? QK was the best hand on the flop, right?
