@FrostyTheDragon Bit of an addendum to my previous comment. I actually looked up the voice actors that played the parts of the duo.

Jerry's VA was Dana Hill - who also voiced Max in the Goof Troop cartoon, among other roles. It's a pity she isn't around anymore (and hasn't been for 15 years).

Tom's VA, Richard Kind, is still in the business to some degree - Van in both Cars movies and Bookworm in Toy Story 3.

Really, the problem with this film isn't "Tom and Jerry talk and are friends" it's the fact that by half way through the film isn't really about them any more, and they could pretty much be taken out and the only problem would be Robyn talking to herself all the time.

Why do tom and jerry talk, and why do they get along? The entire idea of the show was a cat and a mouse HATING each other! That was the creators entire idea for the show, it's a disgrace to the creators grave to have them get along, and also, they were also never meant to talk, although, then again, they only couldn't talk because it was hard to do back then, but still, the tom and jerry WE remember never talked, this movie needs to die.
