I guess what I'm asking is the speed control for the loco and the control to activate the bells, whistle, ect seperate when using the DC voltage method?
Do you have to use the speed dial on the transformer to activate the bells and whistle using the voltage method? Thats what I might have to start with and I cant understand how it would work to activate the whistle and bells whenever you want to.
For example, you had short and long horn blasts, is there a controller that can be connected to the track to do that manually or what?
If you want to control sound on demand you must use radio control. The voltage method is strictly automatic, when to go slow the bell rings, when you exceed a certain voltage a whistle pattern will blow and to blow whistle again you must drop below that voltage and exceed the limit again. Another method of sound control is DCC, digital signal sent through the track to a decoder/sound system in loco.
the real 2-8-8-2's whistle really sounded like that, if u ever heard the ns steam excursion of a similar n&w loco, you know what i'm talkin about, kinda sounded like a steam boat whistle
I think that this clip is wonderful. A person has to be interested in this type of thing to see the value of it, I guess. Keep them coming. Cheers, Jim R
Its whistal sounds like 1218.

What controller do you use to control the sounds?

In this video the only control of sound was done by amount of voltage to track. I now use radio control, AristoCraft Revolution system.

Glad I made you glad. The train and sounds are kinda cool but seeing it go around and around and around is really boring.

Really nice work! NelsonArtWorks has some really fine B&O railroad prints and you can also get them directly from the B&O Railroad Museum too.

I know! I hate it when people watch stuff they hate just so they can talk shit about it.
Anyway, I like it. For some reason, it sounds like it is only a regular steamer, on a mallet. Eh, it's probably just me. Very cool though!
