Actually, I don't see anything wrong with 'one flag one language'. My family was Russian. They learned English. A friend of mine is Argentinian. Her family learned English. People from other countries are welcome, but they should learn the common language like every other group that came before them. I wouldn't dream of moving to another country without learning the traditional language; it's unbelievably rude and disrespectful. It also helps to divide the population along ethnic lines.
I'll agree with you on that. I mean I lived in Japan for five months and I certainly didn't feel that everyone should know English to cater to me. However, I also don't think that every immigrant in this country feels that we should learn their language either. What I'm saying is we should be open minded to learning multiple languages. Yes I agree we should speak English in our country, but why not have a foreign language in our childrens curriculum when they are young?
I completely agree with you then. I loved learning a second language in school; French was one of my favorite classes. One thing I don't like, though, is the overemphasis on Spanish. I was really more interested in French, Portugese, Italian, and Japanese, but our school really pushed kids hard to learn Spanish, even forcing us into it at first, and then letting us switch to German or French and be a year behind the Spanish students. A variety should be presented, with no special treatment.

It is interesting that tragedies or dire situations never concern you until it directly affects youthen it suddenly is of utmost importance. This has been spun out of proportion. Basically, he said that he won't back down because someone calls him a racist for pointing out that illegal aliens are breaking the law. He never once said that he identifies with the actual definition of the word (Judging the value of a person based on the color of their skin). He's pointing out that if people use the word 'racist' to attack anyone who wants to uphold the law, then they're making racism a good thing by distorting the definition.

I'm not saying this as an attack on you, simply a rebuttal. But, whether or not he meant it the way you said he did, the everyday lay person is not going to interpret it that way. The fact that he literally said "I am a proud racist", whether he meant it another way or not, is still unacceptable. He didn't even try to explain himself on the issue. And this idea of "one flag on language" is a sad testament to the close mindedness of our nation and its refusal to integrate with the rest of Earth.

I would venture to guess I probably have a little bit more world experience than you do, given my experiences abroad and education. So I've seen the world through my eyes. I'm also quite aware of the definition of pimp. However, I'm also aware that a screen name means very little other than being an identifier of one's self while online. I'm sure you are probably aging and out of touch with the younger generation and didn't catch the more modern usage of the word pimp anyways. So, ARE you done?

Actually, I don't see anything wrong with 'one flag one language'. My family was Russian. They learned English. A friend of mine is Argentinian. Her family learned English. People from other countries are welcome, but they should learn the common language like every other group that came before them. I wouldn't dream of moving to another country without learning the traditional language; it's unbelievably rude and disrespectful. It also helps to divide the population along ethnic lines.

I'll agree with you on that. I mean I lived in Japan for five months and I certainly didn't feel that everyone should know English to cater to me. However, I also don't think that every immigrant in this country feels that we should learn their language either. What I'm saying is we should be open minded to learning multiple languages. Yes I agree we should speak English in our country, but why not have a foreign language in our childrens curriculum when they are young?

I completely agree with you then. I loved learning a second language in school; French was one of my favorite classes. One thing I don't like, though, is the overemphasis on Spanish. I was really more interested in French, Portugese, Italian, and Japanese, but our school really pushed kids hard to learn Spanish, even forcing us into it at first, and then letting us switch to German or French and be a year behind the Spanish students. A variety should be presented, with no special treatment.

It does seem like people are bearing false witness against him by saying flat out he's a racist. He's merely applying the term 'racist' as his critics would use it against him. But I don't see any problem with there being more than one language used in our country so long as people have a reasonable understanding of English, too.

Don't confound tyrannical communism with either progressivism or the milder forms of democratic socialism.
Extreme right-wing view grade into fascism and extreme socialist views grade into authoritarian communism.
Both are repugnant and neither is progressive.
Progressive politics led to the following things:
Women's vote
Blacks vote
Workers rights
Abolition of child labor
and lot's of other great things we know take for granted.

There are many questionable people who have spoken for "progressive politics," such as Shaw who advocated for Eugenics. Before holding up progressive politics in a good light, I would find out what history tells us has been done in the name of it. It's not the ramblings of the far right, but recorded in history for all who can accept the truths it tells.

BTW, "illegals" pay all of the same taxes that "legals" and citizens do EXCEPT income tax.

I don't think think I said in any way that Hitler was a liberal, pot smoking, peace loving hippie. He was however a socialist.
It's popular in today's society to label any truths they don't like to hear as "racist." Unless it's blatant racism, then I yawn at all those who carelessly throw the word around.
