I agree with you about using hate tactics, and I don't think that a fence alone will solve the issue, and I would be interested in hearing your suggestions on the matter.(after-all, that is how I learn to see things from different perspectives). But frankly, I'm a little tired of hearing for more than a decade the terms "bigot" and "racist" applied to anyone who speaks against ILLEGAL immigation. That is, in my opinion, nothing more than using fear and hate tactics to do nothing.

That sounds good and let me clarify: Buddy isn't a racist because he wants immigration reform. There's plenty other evidence of his racism, especially his ties to CofCC. Luckily no one has elected me to a position where I'd have to decide how to solve this problem, because I'm just as clueless as everyone else. If we want to kick everyone out, how do we accomplish that? Enforce the laws we have, deport illegal immigrants and find a safe, legal way for these people to join our nation.

My problem is with illegal immigration and the impact on the US economy and our sovereignty. For now, the vast majority of illegals are from Mexico. However, there are people from many other countries who cross in from Mexico, as well (just not in the same numbers). ALL need to leave, not just those from Mexico.
