I don't think it's appropriate to put modern concepts. The concept of what a greek person was today and 2000 years ago is completely different. But I mean, look at the clothes, dance, physical features and language. Yes, of course, there is have been influences from different languages, as there have been arabic and turkish influences in the greek language, but these shows very ancient greek customs (which of course differ from modern greeks).

Of course there's been a lot of mix in the DNA since the last Hellenic rule in the region, but it's known and accepted that both Indo-Greeks and Greco-Bactrian tribes have left some gene-pool in the region. Of course this has diminished in the ages, but in secluded areas (such as some remote villages in India) there are tribes that still speak Ancient Greek dialects. It's interesting though that some traditions and idioms have survived some many years!

I believe there are definitely some traces of Greek blood and cultural influences in this area, however I believe the vast majority of their unique appearance and religion is due to being descendants of the Yuezhii/proto-Tocharians; one of the few people with a more incredible history than Greeks left over from Alexander.
It kinda trivializes these wondrous peoples who have endured a Muslim onslaught for centuries, by just writing them off as Greeks.

@PakiStar4life the only afghans in Iran are not even ethnically afghan they are hazara shias who are mongolian, like Genghis khan
Iran is shia so they were welcomed there after Iran felt bad for them. hazaras are mongols and part of pakistan was afghanistan, the other part was india.
