Never mind his technique. This is simply one of the most beautiful, musical, and passionate performances of this piece I have ever heard--and I've heard an awful lot of them over the last 50-plus years. Just marvelous.

Sokolov 1 of the genius-musicians of the World. Most complicated, sophisticated works of genii are like toys in His HANDS.I bought his "Live in Paris" by Bruno Monsaingeon..it's fantastic,revolutionary & wonderfull.

I heard Sokolov play this at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen when he was a young man in 1976. He brought down the house.
