  • 1:52 lol wtf?

  • Request- How far is heaven by Los lonely boys

  • AWESOME beginner song if you have the capo. Thanks as always Marty. I know, i know, "thank me by buying my dvd's"; i'm working on it bud.

  • Thanks for the lesson Marty. Its a great song from my childhood as well, for a different reason. I was raised in West Virginia. (:

  • wow this was a great tutorial. i love how you showed the basic way to play and then you also showed how to fancy it up :D

  • great song great lesson was a blast for me to learn

  • i was born in orange county =D

  • THANKS! :)

  • Sounds like Dixie land delight

  • Great video for a beginner like me! I will be out in the shop banging away where no one can hear me! haha I would like to see a little more of those individual notes you threw in there. Do you have those posted on you tube? Do you have anything tabbed out?

    Thanks and keep it up

    Phillip

  • nice

  • So , I learned how to play this famous song from Marty. Good job Marty. I would also reccommend people to jump on the original song as you learn and have a listen about 200 times like I did, so that the strum pattern makes more sense. Disclaimer; stuff takes me a while to pick up and I have to look at it from different angles you know:)

  • I like Marty's sense of humor as well as his simplicity. Simple is good for me!

  • marty is a great teacher i got his learning cd's tons on songs to learn hours of fun give it try alot cheaper than 30 bucks for half hour lession some where good job marty thanks for helping

  • Thank you so much for your videos Marty. I would be so lost without you. If I had the money for whatever your company sells, I would support your business without hesitation. You have an undeniable talent for teaching guitar and I appreciate your efforts.

  • are you high or do I just think you are? :D

  • Thank God I'm a country boy.

  • Omg ur good

  • I've allways trouble with the strumming patterns. You say down-down up-down-up and I play down-down up-down-up but it sounds different to yours :(

  • What is the lesson called that you have to get out of the 'cowboy rut' ? With the cool picking stuff.

  • @CoCoPuffKatie Pls tell me if you find the tutorial for that..... want to practice it!

  • Mate yo the best teacher. I never thought i cud l ever learn to play guitar (i m 45) but u changed all that. I been playin for only 2 months now but i picked up this song in no time. Absolutely love ur lessons. @ ArlanCondez16...i d love to see Marty playin in a concert. Keep teachin n keep rockin mate. Cheers.

  • your fingers r in the way.unless you know the chords i cant understand anything

  • The part at 4:25 was pretty awesome, I'll never get this good :(

  • im just starting, i find it really hard to pick up where he changes chords in the lyrics, any suggestions?

  • May the Schwartz be with you!!

  • I didn't know you could tune up when you use a capo ? must be good tuners .

  • I'm just learning. I think you should have talked more about the strumming pattern on the first down stroke, is it more like a half stroke on the base strings and then all the strings? So like 1/2 down 1 down 2 down 3 up/down 4 down?

  • Your ability to make songs so fun to learn is phenomenal. I did the free 10 beginner lessons and loved them. Slowly learning song by song. You're the man.

  • What guitar do you use?

  • Man you are a god i love your lesson and also your own song :D

  • Thumbs Up if you wanna see Marty in a concert!!!

  • Marty ur the best man no body get me wrong but if there's any way u can comment on this and tell me how to get the strummen down just right or anybody

  • This was the hell of a good lesson! Can't wait to start practicing!!! Thank you!

  • what happened at 1:50 video mess up?

  • Hey Marty,

Great lesson. Love the little embellishment "box", that works really well. Also, cool story about meeting JD. This was a big song from my childhood as well.

    Peace,

    Chris

  • Capo.....we meet again

  • @Jojordan12 pick a pen, some strings and you have your self a capo friend!

  • @tomvercruysse Thank you :D

  • @Jojordan12 np (;

  • @Jojordan12 whats the deal with the capo its around $10...

  • @Jojordan12 order a capo for 5 bugs ;D

  • @Jojordan12 you can also just play A, E, F#m, D without the capo cause it's the same chords

  • Thanks Marty, I've learned a lot from you and the way you teach.Appreciate if you could give a lesson Back Home Again by John Denver.

  • Don't EVER give up!! Anybody tells you to give up is a friggin' TARD!!

  • hehe I have a 58 ^_^

  • Thanks a lot Marty for this lesson. I just started playing and lost my grandfather in July, he was born and raised in WV. This song reminds me of our trips going back there thru the years. I'll keep going till I can get it right. Thanks again!

  • At 65 I am trying to learn to play, something I never dreamt of. The most frustrating thing is that when i watch the picking, by whoever is teaching, it is always played too fast to see which strings are being struck. Could you please do it in tiny steps for complete dummies like me. I am a bit of a perfectionist and it is so frustrating.

    Please help!

  • Wow, the best quitar teacher all over the world, but the passage 4:25-5:00 is not for beginners... really hard ...

  • Maaaan! You're great :)) Haha.

  • Thanks Marty, I am enjoying your lessons with your nice talking. I am kind of old man in Japan here, but always encourage myself hard to learn guiter playing like you . I just love to feel gooooood guiter acoustic vibration on my YAIRI guiter. Counry roads you play here reminds of my unforgettable memory.which I was in US as a post doc in TX long time ago.

  • Dude, I suck and I learned this in a day! Thanks!
