what animal bedding do you use ?

I use several different kinds, but it must be dust-reduced. Currently I use wood shavings that are made for sensitive horses.

i have problem my rat have four baby's but after two day's two of them are death because she always run over them . She is pretty the worst mom i ever seen , she is not trying to feed them only if they get to her then they can eat . What i can do ?

I doubt they died because she ran over them. It´s quite normal that babies of that young age die. That happens sometimes. Feed the mom protein, she needs that a lot now. Don´t look into her nest too often, that might bug her and keep her from caring for her babies. Moms that have too much stress tend to ignore their babies and give them up! It might happen that they all die. That just happens sometimes, it´s nature and not because Mom was bad.

I've always wanted to breed rats one day- waiting for a shelter to get a pregnant one never occurred to me, but I'd be happy to do that instead. It's a really good idea.

My rat looks exactly like that... but when i bred her a few months ago, her two babies were dead and she ate them because of that... She has a tumor right under her back leg, and i want to cry when i see my baby girl...

please please go to the vet with her and remove that tumour! It´s a good chance that the operation will be sucessful. And don´t breed once more, there are allready too many homeless rats outside. If you want babys again go to shelter and ask for pregnant ratties.

i rescued a baby rattie from being snake food a couple years back and she was they most affectionate and loyal little pet i've ever had - maybe because she had just barely started to grow hair and her eyes weren't quite open and she kind of thought of me as 'mom'. i just wanted to ask- how old are the baby rats at 1:38? because that's the approximate age my rat was at but i was never quite sure what it was.

They´re 14 days at this time. Rat babies open their eyes usually around day 14.

Of course they do. That´s normal "baby-squeeking". They do that only at this young age.

they must have grown up into beautiful adults with all the love you gave them. it,s a great pity people are so brainwashed into hating rats, i have 11 girls and they are all gorgeous and very, very tame.
