  • The best thing is for NATO to wrap it up. THE COLD WAR IS OVER BIDEN.

  • is it my imagination or is hillary just a third wheel in this administration?

biden seems to take some delight in pushing her out of the way and launching himself into foreign affairs

  • nk. not sold on Hil yet, but I'd much rather her be there.

  • what ever happened to the attack that Biden predicted that was supposed to "test Obama"? I mean if Europe likes that, they can entertain him all they want. But gees, God save Obama because we don't want either Biden or Pelosi in the Oval Office, like EVER. c'mon Obama, put somebody worthwhile up there. Not just your friends. Send Hillary there and keep Biden hidden. He's the VP and should not be doing anything.

  • So giving unwanted back rubs to German women leaders is somehow not considered rude? LOL at the double standard. You need to get over having lost. I put up with Bush and Cheney for 8 years so all is fair in politics.

  • uh, YEAH!!! As if Bush got 100% enthusiasm and support from the left. Puhleese...

  • uh...shouldn't Hillary Clinton be doing this? At least her gaffes are not rude. I thought the VP was supposed to stay out of the picture. The truthful reason why I wish Obama well is because I dont' want this guy in office, AT ALL. or Pelosi...may God help us.

  • Godspeed Biden. It's so good to finally have a real leader again.

  • So, we're going to close Guantanamo, but we're going to ask some of our allies to take possession of (some of) the prisoners?

I have an idea - let's let the Israelis take them!

  • I can't follow what half you people are saying here. I see terms like Zionism, facisim, and ultra liberalism thrown out without a care. Please get this straight. The United States made a huge mistake with George Bush. Hell, I never voted for the idiot. He was a mess, he damaged our rep everywhere in the world. No Obama and Biden are not perfect but anything and anyone is better then Bush/Cheney. Trust me as an American living here all my life. Our country has economically been run in the ground.

  • MorganKrista-you seem to throw terms like 'idiot' very easily. People say BHO is soooo smart because he went to Hahvahd. W went there and to Yale too! Does that make hime twice as brilliant? Bush was at least smart enough to keep us from being attacked for 7 years.

I totally disagree with you when you say that anything is better than Bush. Kerry or algore would have been much worse.

The entire world right now is having economic trouble. Is Bush so smart to controls the entire world?

  • ...Bush was smart enough to to keep us from being attacked for 7 years? Seriously? After we were attacked under his watch? Had Al Gore been our President in 2001 9/11 would've never happened, in the first place. Defending Bush is like defending the guy who calls 911 after he irresponsibly runs you over. It's not a merit, it's the least he could've done !

  • Um, no. Bush failed on 9/11. Sorry, its such a lie that he "kept us safe". We are not safe at all right now because our country is collapsing. Look at the debt and deficit. Who did that? Not a "liberal". Nope. Bush did. The deficit grows every time Repubs take office. He is an idiot. His approval rating when he left office confirms that most Americans agree with me.

  • MorganKrista- Bush failed on 9/11 or was it the failure of policy over the last 15 years? You Blame Bush because of your Bush Hatred Syndrom. But, the truth is that there is plenty of blame to pass around. The largest amount of blame does not belaong to Bush, it does belong to the terrorists who hijacked planes and killed people.

Bush was smart enough to beat your candidates in elections. Does that make your guys idioter?

  • Nasty zionist jew

  • AGAINST EXTEMISM ??

s htis the america which cheered "you're either with us, or without us" ??

Well, the world would rather be WITHOUT you. YOU allowed bush to START all this attacking the world, and it was obvious thta the UK was blackmailed into it, by YOUR spie, Tony Blaire.

So, sod off, and lie in your own bed. I doubt you will receive much help form the world, and i hope britain gets as far away form you as possible (actually, we alreayd are, almost).

  • i see flies coming out of his mouth. he should keep it close.

  • Why am I getting the feeling that this man is lieing through every opening in his body? I'm feeling that he doesn't give a shit. I guess I could be wrong though.

  • It figures a fascist like Biden would show up in Munich. He was probably touring the country collecting Hitler relics.

  • Wooooh!!! Rock that right microphone!!!

  • Oobonga?

    You people are so lame.

  • Notice how he didn't say anything about abiding by international law. And it should be said that the "values that animate" our "democracy" are exactly what we have been honoring. The values that our government works from are those of American Global dominance and economic colonialism. Everything America has done in the last fifty years falls exactly in line with upholding the values of the powers that control the policies of the State. They have no relation to morality or justice whatsoever.

  • Ohh please... America isn't a Democracy !!

    Bloody Fools.

  • Why would he give the good news first? Everyone knows you give the bad news first... The bad news is I killed your wife, the good news is she was a cheating whore!

  • I learned a long time ago that talking is better than either yelling or fighting!

  • what a great VP and administration we have elected. Go Biden we love you.

  • What I like about Biden: He supports passenger rail, he was smart enough to finish law school at Syracuse, and he is probably not as bellicose as that cholesterol-choked, old war-monger, Dick Cheney.

  • mockery,i think your done enough, you fail to keep your word on iraq and constanly change your mind to suit your needs ,let them have there country it is not for you to run it in any way or means...invading you are and cant be trusted...your attitude stalls your consept of what is right..face up to your actions instead of playing innocent, then your worthy ...no one has ammunity. .as much as i like to shut up,you dont let me..

  • Pack his case, and send him back - FAST CLAss !!

We dont want your JEWISH democracy. Our royal family are part german, and whilst we dont like them very much, we are ocmfortable having them there, as our focus of blame.

We DONT want your jewish capitalism to try and push thir noses out. On top of htis, our old peopel love the royals, and we dont want your jews telling our old people what to do.

SO - fck off back, and face the revolution which is about ot smassh your stinking ocuntry to pieces

  • @mikeybrumbrum: Hateful much?

  • In the past 24 hours, Vice President Biden offered a barbed olive branch to Russia, asserting that the US and Russia share many concerns in common, but that the US would not do business with any country that maintains a "sphere of influence." (?!) Hey, Biden, ever hear of the Monroe Doctrine? Get real: North America and South America are both in the US' sphere of influence, Cuba & Venezuela being the only exceptions. I am going to call Biden's office on Monday re: his remarks.

  • I don't trust the Russians one bit! They have been touring to drum up anti-American sentiment all over the world...fuck Putin and his decaying military.

  • GiovannaNYC,

I trust neither the oligarchs in Moscow nor the investment bankers in NYC. BUT, I recognize that Russia now has the smartest & savviest leaders since Peter the Great. Their military? Their 58th army did professional work in So. Ossetia, & their ICBM's (like TOPOL-M) are best-in-class. Russia is a counterweight to US Neocon dreams of world hegemony, for sure. This dialectic is a balance of power---Learn to live with The Bear, but keep a shotgun loaded if he enters our homeland.

  • professional work in South Ossetia? You mean allowing and in some cases assisting in ethnic cleansing?

  • Hackney08001,

"Ethnic cleansing" is one of those ultra-liberal, manipulative terms, like "climate-change denier" or "hate crime". It contains a built-in begged question, in this case, that a nation does not have the right to defend its citizens. Also, much of the reporting of the Russian operation was very biased in favor or Tblisi. Remember that Georgia attacked first. Obviously, any time that military operations occur, people are going to be hurt. US is killing some innocents in Afghan now.

  • A nation does have the right to defend its citizens, which is exactly why Georgia responded, perhaps unwisely, to shelling by Russian-backed separatists in what even Russia recognised as part of Georgia. And 'ethnic cleansing' is actually a term for removing large numbers of people from a region because of their ethnicity, which is what has happened in both Abhazia and South Ossetia. This did not just happen in August, it has been going on for 16 years.

  • No, Russia has recognized South Ossetia as a separate state, and that was a matter of dispute before the shelling started. Many Ossetians held Russian passports. "Ethnic cleansing" is always used by ultra-liberals to describe efforts by populations whom we don't like to preserve their borders, language, & culture. Now, look what the US did to Native Americans for the past 2 centuries--That was "cleansing!" Stop passing moralistic US judgments on other nations that are much older than ours.

  • I'm not American so I don't suffer from the same apparent neo-con induced shame and self-loathing that I feel the need to justify and 'understand' fascism and nationalism in a country that is in fact not as old as mine. And stop using the phrase 'ultra-liberal' it just makes you sound stupid.

  • Hackney08001,

I will stop with "U.L." when you cease using the loathsome & politically-correct "ethnic cleansing." And, your country (the UK) has PLENTY to feel guilty about. For example, we can "thank" the UK for callously & illogically carving up the remnants of the Ottoman Empire into completely irrational colonial puppet states, like Iraq. The Brits completely ignored the legitimate national aspirations of the Kurds, for example. The UK is reaping a malignant post-colonial harvest now.

  • All right then brainiac. What term would you use for removing huge numbers of people from their homes they have lived in for generations at gunpoint, shooting the men, then bulldozing the whole village because they speak the wrong language or are from the wrong culture. Let me guess, you would prefer to refer to this as 'protecting our culture' or 'taking out the trash', or simply as you put it 'a professional job'.

  • Fine if as an American you feel so filled with guilt and self-loathing for your own countries actions that you don't like criticising other countries, but to congratulate the Russian army and militias for a 'professional job'??? in Georgia. You seem to be a deeply confused individual. An passionate anti-neocon with fascist tendencies who says 'ultra-liberal' a lot because actually arguing with facts is too hard.

  • Hackney08001,

Skip the 25-cent psychological analysis and stick to logic, facts, and intellectual maturity. Example: Very conservative think tanks in the US have commented on the professional job that the Russian 58th army did in pushing Georgian forces out of Ossetia. No, I am not a fascist; I am a deeply conservative nationalist. By the way, I work 60 hours per week, so I may not respond quickly during the work week. I have to go to work now, to feed the welfare recipients. Nice day to you.

  • Hackney08001,

The term? War crimes or war atrocities. Like when the Royal Air Force (under Bomber Harris) fire-bombed defenseless, refugee-packed Dresden. Or, read about the actions of the British Army during the Sepoy Rebellion in India--militants strapped to the mouths of cannons, having their guts blown out.

  • I think he is a morally corrupt man blessed with an innocent post. He might have to choose between his old failings and the new opportunities to do good deeds

  • how is predicting a likelyhood to fall short of a goal in any way optimistic?? and how is "begging for help" acceptable human nature? Only treacherous wolves beg and whine. We happen to be more advanced than to be resorting to those tactics; idiocy and corruption fed by corporations who ignore, to favor greed, every single heavenly virtue: and thier media cohorts who do the same. Money grubbing, selfish, humans. all I can see when politicians patronize me and insult my intelligence.

  • I don't like him either... He started out this speech with a stupidly pessimistic comment.

  • A very optimistic statement. We are likely to fall short. Think that might be a cya. I do but it's embarrassing we have no need to. At least not until now.

The end is just as poor. The bad news is we will ask for more help from our partners. Sounds like begging to me.

  • i dont like joe biden..lol

  • I don't like Obama
