If the Irish can be silly enough to enter Jedward and a turkey it's about time the UK gave Neil his shot, instead whatever Simon Cowell rejects we enter these days.
Cannot stop watching this video (stands for VT)!. Miss Ripping Yarns so much and miss seeing Neil around but this was genious! Soooo should have been in the contest (you know which one I mean). Brill, brill and brill again!!!
Saw this when it first was on TV and still love it. Would defo win. They should sooooo get Neil to do this next year. It's BRILL. Naff and wonderful at the same time. Just as he wanted it to be. Miss Neil xx
This is absolutely brilliant. It begs the question: how did the continent of Europe - which spawned such purveyors of culture as Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Gounod, Rossini, Puccini, Chopin, etc - end up at that cultural bogland which is the Eurovison Song Contest? What went wrong?
On Neil's recent UK tour, someone wrote a review in a Scottish newspaper & castigated him for this song and its apparent anti Euro sentiment. They were saying things like these kinds of sentiments are no longer acceptable blahblah. What does that tell you about modern Britain? One of our most treasured songwriters with such humanity and depth of feeling for his fellow man and of course humour so misrepresented. Of course it is hilarious. I'm going to use this as my mantra against the PC brigade
but what the heck. they need to take out the stick they have in their arses, blow their noses and grow a sense of humor. neil is a genious, maybe they are jealous because they were born without charm and Ill say it again, humor. I love thissong on someny leves, always makes me smile.
It's a rather fair conteast after all, and the Brits can't do that England-Scotland-Wales-and-Nothern Ireland trick.
But the Russian adopted it. Marching separately - striking jointly, the very reason for splitting the Soviet Union, if you ask me. Whoever used to know anything about, for example, Azerbaijan a couple of years ago?

The lyrics are great. Neil really should be the UK's Eurovision representative next year.

Why does this remind me so much of Oxhorn's Lesson on Music: Eurovision?

if there is a god up there, this song will no doubt become by law the mandatory Eurovision entry of every country every single year.
