  • i loved this song so much...

  • it's been awhile since I last listen to the carpenters, such a very very beautiful song. I think I'm in the wrong generation. ;p

  • this song makes me jizz in my pants!! :o amazing song

  • "Yesterday" peaked at number two behind "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" in 1973.

  • this brings back bittersweet memories.

  • Karen Carpenter was THE most gifted female singer of all time.

  • Still listening to it in 2011!

  • 学校で、この曲を合唱で歌ったクラスがありました。

  • good, comfortable

  • This most be THE most unique voice ever.

  • Happy times!

  • 10 persons missed the like button

  • :) aaaah good times....i remember listening to this early in the morning when the sunrise starts..... :D

  • SHE LEFT TO EARLY

  • When I was young I’d listened to the radio waitin’ for my favorite songs waiting they played I’d sing along It made me smile Those were such happy times and not so long ago how I wondered where they’d gone but they’re back again just like a long lost friend all the songs I loved so well
  • Lookin’ back on how it was in years gone by and the good times that I had makes today seem rather sad so much has changed It was songs of love that I would sing to then and I’d memorize each word Those old melodies still sound so good to me As they melt the years away
  • Every sha-la-la-la every wo-wo-wo still shines Every shing-a-ling-a-ling that they’re starting to sing’s so fine All my best memories come back clearly to me some can even make me cry just like before It’s yesterday once more
  • aaaaaaaaah classic is the best

  • i was lucky enough to have heard this the first time it came to uk fond mems

  • the carpenters should sing more song

  • @oops7015 I wish they could too, boy do I ever, but fate didn't give us that chance, but look at what they gave us.

  • What a beautiful song sang by a beautiful artist...

  • love this song.

  • Summer of '73 never sounded so good.

  • The good old days. A cold Molson Golden in my hand, and the Carpenters on the radio.

  • she IS in heaven

  • With a voice like that Karen BELONGS in Heaven.

  • cant believe i was once on that point and now its gone...it was only yesterday how time goes really fast

  • Nostalgie c'est le mot qui me vient quand j'écoute les chansons des Carpenters.

  • J'adore les Carpenters... C'est si doux.

  • Oh My God ! What a Great Sweet Nostalgia that tears welled up and started rolling down ! Thank You God for creating Carpenters and bestowing them with honey voice!

  • @manoharm2

    absolutely bawling

  • non-stop classic

  • very nice song!

  • astig to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sciubidù glen glen !

  • How ironic that she is singing about feeling nostalgic for the harmonies of Doo-wop-ish 50's music and she is evoking the same feelings in listeners to HER song almost 40 years later. The 70's was incredible and the end of many things we can't get back. The Gold Standard, the Environment, Good Music, Good (non GMO)Food, Good Cartoons, Good Toys, Good Movies and Happiness.

  • @javito1208 AHORA PEDIS CLEMENCIA MALDITO PRIMATE JAJAJA... JAQUE MATE PUTOOOO... ARGENTINA 3 - MEXICO 0

  • FACT: Karen died because she was on a fasting protest of the illegal election of Ronald Reagan.

  • @finlanderable Nobody gives a fuck how old you are and which songs you like or dont like. You damn kids stop flooding the comments page to try to get attention, your age is totally irrelevant

  • @catsu11111 with the kind of language you use I'd be surprised if you were an adult you need to respect other people regardless of their age

  • @finlanderable Could not agree any more with you! I'm 20 and ditto!

  • i was born in the 90s and i wish to god that i was born in the 50s upwards i belong there i ahte all the new music today and 90s music is a joke

  • @driverjackboy I think of music (?) today as "noise pollution".

  • @davemelnick @driverjackboy You guys said it - nice to see some of the younger crowd appreciating the zenith of popular music too. There's plenty of Carpenters haters out there, but all I can say to that is pearls before swine. No one has or ever will match these records.

  • @falldownhard as a '60s birth, thanx for saying that I am "The Younger Crowd". ;).

  • @davemelnick haha of course :) us kids have to stick together!

  • @driverjackboy there are 90s nice songs too

  • 70 - 90s is the real good moment ... I really have no idea what happen to the music today.

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT DECADE, the clothes, music, and pop culture! BEST TIME EVER! and the best part, is KAREN AND RICHARD! THEY ARE THE BEST MUSICIANS WHO EVER LIVED!

  • @armendoza i was born in the 80s... so I would ask God to take once and for all to the 70s... I always wanted to be born in these years (or before them).

    Nice comment!! 5 stars!!

  • @armendoza I wish...me too.

  • ! oh combien de vieux/ vieilles , se rendent souvent pour ecouter encore et encore ; cette connerie !! ( moi aussi d'ailleurs; tu t'en souviens mila ?)

  • @armendoza I"ll join u !

  • ,,don't worry I'm working on a time machine concept.

  • @armendoza

You asked God to take you back to the 70's? ... Strange because God is the demanding one. You must do what God says and no the other way around fool. Yahweh and Zeus love you.

Just kidding. This song is pretty good and for everything the Carpenters did will be remembered always. Great music no doubt. 10 dislikes well... those idiots have no taste

  • i love this song i file so well when i here this song<3

  • Love this song. Never fails. Karen's voice brings tears of reminiscence to my eyes every time I hear her.

  • when i sing this song i feel like i'm singing about this song itself. my mom played Carpenters songs all the time when i was very young and... you know... they can make me cry

  • This song is dedicated to the 70's era for all Parents back in the era were raised as Hippies. But dont go there.

  • wow, how I'd love to go back to the 70's!!!!

  • @lowfuellevel If only they were able to invent a time machine

  • can't agree more!!!!

I really miss the old days!

I miss my childhood and my grandmother so so much!!

  • Her voice is timeless. I grew up in the 80s, but I have such a huge appreciation for her voice. It's a shame she died so young. I would have loved to have seen her in concert.

  • and i believe she's drumming on this tune as well,,along with all her other recordings...voice like an angel , and drumming like a pro !!

  • i love it " Yesterday Once More " ...great

  • They could be singing about themselves 40 years on... Have to agree with you pbaylis. .. Was thinking that as I was hearing them and hadn't read your comment until I wrote the first line.

  • @msmaggie007t What a lovely beautiful comment. Couldnt have put it better myself

  • This song foretells itself 40 years later.

  • SO right :)

  • I listen to these songs a lot, my father introduced me to these. I think they're great.

  • timeless

  • they just don't make music like this any more, those were the days.i miss her alot

  • .....''only oldies but goodies''.....

  • this is REAL music...

  • I grew up mid fifties to mid sixties. Graduated in 66 in a small New England Town. I was so fortunate to have experienced first hand the culmination of music that this song expresses and more.

  • The golden records, 45s were coming so fast. Everyday new music was being introduced on the radio and most of the time, you fell in love with them after hearing it only once, it was so great. Seems like there was an endless stream of hits and they kept on coming.

  • Comment removed

  • There were so many hit singles, so many new artists and groups; we spent our allowances at the local record shop. Most kids never even took the time to play the backside of the records we bought because we were overwhelmed be sheer number of new hit singles

  • For all that were unfortunate not to have grown up though it all, I truly feel you missed an American music revolution. If you have ever viewed the movie American Graffiti, we enjoyed about 8 endless summers worth. Truly and American experience..

  • einfach Traumhaft...es gibt wenige Songs

die so gefühlvoll gesungen wurden..Zeitlos schön...

  • just beautiful

  • you can just feel the honesty in the voice

  • love it...

  • any1 know the reason behind the name the carpenters?

  • Carpenters is Karen and Richard's surname.

  • I used to get teased in High School for listening to The Carpenters, didn't matter to me, Listening to Karen's voice was like watching Smoke Dance. Her voice will NEVER be equaled.

  • Me too ! Me , you and I agree never equaled.

  • great song, great voice, great band

  • I love that this is the raw original un-remixed version. They changed it for the Singles album, then Richard remixed and re-recorded some of this for all the compilation albums.

  • I love this song

  • its a shame that a woman with such talent as she had, had to go the way she did.

  • whole lot of magic

  • One of the best voices ever, all of their songs were beautiful and still are, the music, the lyrics, wonderful!

  • Agreed!

  • gold!!!

  • very very nice. The beauty...

  • This might be the first English song I heard, really amazing.

  • I wish every English song was this good; most the older music is calm and peaceful. . . but the newer music isn't all like that. Sure, a few songs are calming. . . but new music doesn't have that same chime as older music.

Not to say that the new music is bad. . . I like the music of my generation, but the older music--it's just. . . amazing. It's jaw dropping how music changes so quickly. . .

  • You're right dude, many new songs are as cheap as french fries,no talent,no spirit. I won't listen twice even if they pay me.

  • ^Amen to that.

  • That's because they care more about 'the package' than talent. It's not about how talented you are, but how you look on TV.

We can all thank American Idol for that.
