Nice try, Gordon Smith, but it didn't work. Obama even made an ad where he said that he wanted Oregonians to vote for Jeff Merkley. All of the democrats wanted Merkley to win, and he did!

Really disappointed Smith voted for the bailout. If we get to many dems in power governmnet may get even bigger and there already to big of a burden thanks to Bush. The more money they take the fewer freedoms we have. Take a look at Ron pauls campaign for liberty.

I've decided to vote for Jeff Merkley. We voted for Gordon Smith a few years ago, but now all the stuff he said he'd do--he never did. I'm a healthcare reformer canvasser, and Merkley supports our ideas of "accessible and affordable healthcare". Gordon Smith says he does too-but he's been in senate for a while, and he hasn't done anything about it.

I have known Senator Smith for over 45 years. Although I don't agree with his posturing with Obama on legislation or his reversal on Iraq, I know damn well he carefully thought through his positions, and came to honest decsions on the best courses of action. Calling Smith a snake and a loser is the type of juvenile rancor we don't need more of. He is a thoughtful and independent legislator, held in very high regard in Congress. He is one person I'd trust with the life of my child.
