A little work and some variation in the backing track (it suits parts of the improv) and this could sound quite harmonic. Don't let the negatives put you off - guitar is about sound and harmony, which comes with practise.

4 years on, it'd be interesting to hear an updated version - see what you've accomplished in this time.

What you find with those who post negative comments on instrumentals is that a good 80-90% of them couldn't tell you the difference between a fret and a bridge (aka not actually be able to play for shit).
