The Spoilsbury Toast Boy series is supposedly backwards. I read this somewhere, and I don't see how exactly (yet), but what happens in the beginning is supposed to be the end.
It’s an attempt to show how a mentally ill patient sees his so called ”experts.” Doctors/nurses are all seen as beetles or insects because they might as well be another race. Communication between mentally ill patients and doctors/nurses are nearly impossible. The last scene where the “doctor” “helps” the boy is disturbing because she truly believes she is helping him but she is in fact damaging him. The upvoted comment about the animal symbolism is more disturbing than the vid.

Right. For some people, like myself, this is art. It speaks a language of symbolism placed inside the artist's style or creativity, and the level of 'darkness' in his creations is purely a matter of style and personal choice.
For other people, this is just darkness. Maybe they do understand, or they don't, but either way, this style just doesn't appeal to them. And that is perfectly fine, you don't HAVE to like David Firth.

Well, you know how there's that saying , " Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder," I think what this is an example of how we seem to fear things that are diffrent. The fact that this child is in a world where cockroaches and various creatures rule demonstraights the indiffrence. In the video, they killed the child, demonstraighting how we want to cure the indiffrence. Metamorphically, we're killing the person.

I think the fact that the kid is speaking a language that in not understandable emphasises there is a animal/human relationship, as their language sounds like noise to us. The kid just obeyed without question, as animals do for us.

At first I thought you where wrong, but the ending is a really good display of how as humans you put an animal down if its injured etc. To put it out of its pain or as the beetle says "I expect you feel better after that".

To be honest, this series seems to have far more to do with medicine, and perhaps mental health treatment. There are many uses of cremes, lotions and cures; -2 starts with the image of a tiled, hospital wall; the series is resolutely about some kind of dangerous medicinal practice. But what?

Well, you know how there's that saying , " Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder," I think what this is an example of how we seem to fear things that are diffrent. The fact that this child is in a world where cockroaches and various creatures rule demonstraights the indiffrence. In the video, they killed the child, demonstraighting how we want to cure the indiffrence. Metamorphically, we're killing the person.

@teenergomez Well... remember in the first episode when the good beetles said they had a machine to help his insanity? Well, the machine at the end was that machine, and it put him out of his misery. What happened fully, is he went to the doctors to get help from the machine, and the machine killed him.

I think this video might have some relation to how us people kill animals whenever something is wrong with the animal.
I think the fact that the kid is speaking a language that in not understandable emphasises there is a animal/human relationship, as their language sounds like noise to us. The kid just obeyed without question, as animals do for us.
I think that this video shows us what it would be like if the roles were reversed, if it was the cockroaches putting us down.

At first I thought you where wrong, but the ending is a really good display of how as humans you put an animal down if its injured etc. To put it out of its pain or as the beetle says "I expect you feel better after that".

@liam69love David Firth is well known for having hidden meanings, representations and metaphors in his art... eg: in man from up the stairs, the people arent actually people. they represent constipated poo, bowels and brain.
If those videos can have a deeper meaning, then why is this one exempt?? You seem to lack the ability to look into things... :(

@briandalton3000 i'm afraid that's exactly what i think. everyone nowadays wants to find deeper meanings in things. i'm fairly sure that i can read into things better than you because you're interpretation is somewhat marred due to the fact that it makes no sense and sounds exactly like something i could have come up with out of the top of my head. If you want to say that you are properly able to read into things try studying english perhaps. Ulysses or any works of shakespeare could help you.:)

Sometimes artists make their work purposefully ambiguous in nature for the sheer fact that they want their audiences to come up with their own interpretations. I agree, people often do look much deeper into works of art/literature than the creator intended.. but to tell this guy his more than reasonable interpretation is "marred " is just outright pretentious.
