  • Lounge act version.

  • It's cool to see the contrast of this song, nicely executed by Steve and Eyde, with the original video. Would have been interesting to see soundgarden pull off the song with this orchestration backing them up.

  • amazing, if you watch it carefully, the video goes well with this version

  • Just FYI, this Steve & Eydie version appeared on an album called "Lounge-a-palooza," which also included tracks featuring PJ Harvey & Eric Drew Feldman, Jimmy Scott & Flea, Ben Folds Five, Glen Campbell & Michelle Schocked, Edwin Collins, Esquivel and others, all recorded specifically for the album. It was on Hollywood/Disney and you can still find copies on Amazon. Oh, and for those who asked, Chris Cornell liked it.

  • this goes to show c c skills as a writer . u can make a different format and still a great song. a gifted man.

  • pinche joto

  • Fuck Off!

    This is Paul Anka

  • Forgot to mention: papabush took the words right out of my mouth. This arrangement proves the song is a strong composition, it can stand on its own no matter what the treatment.

I also agree with the other two comments that a. There's something even creepier about this arrangement with these visuals, and b. It stirs up feelings of NYC at night. ;)

  • Something about hearing this version with the original visuals makes me wistful.

I only got to see this vid once back when it first came out (damn you MTV for refusing to play music now), and even then only the central part so I never learned its name at the time. So this vid is supposed to be simulating what would happen to the earth if the sun collapsed and became a black hole?

  • not as bad as Moog Cookbook's retarded cover

  • The only thing is the music that screws things up -.-"

  • the original version is THE BEST and even more creepiest >:D! this is what I was looking for, and by the way, the black hole seems more real ^^

  • Hahaha...

I was about to be spoofed!!

  • Big band sinatra-like stuff :)

  • I was headbanging the whole time to this

  • @drdontcare123 So was I. Love it. LOL.

  • LOL I wasn't expecting this! surprisingly nice; who sang this cover??

Should change the title though; pisses people off.....

  • Can you dig it? I can dig it... Maybe having the video is a little over the top, but as far as the music......

  • Why can't I find the damn music video? And no shitstorm "remakes"

  • this is grade F crap dude, I give it 2 thumbs down and a turd u complete waste of air!

  • lol-horrible sorry but nope.

  • I hate it when fags ruin good music.

  • best cover ever xD

  • You aré an Asshole

  • your all super retarded.........go to hell.

  • Paul Anka version, from the Covers album... he actually had Come as you are in there too.

  • Classicos sempre serão classicos.

  • Haha, is this Richard Cheese?

  • cool but not soundgarden ;)

  • i like this version

it reminds me of new york city at night for some reason

  • Creepy shit.

  • WTF? what dumbass would put this shit on youtube...and who really believes that this is the "real version"?! lmfao

  • @radioWTF no one you piece of shit it's to fool people like you and its not shit :\

  • what??lol

  • lmao... wtf

  • Thanks for posting! Im not a fan of this version, but my uncle plays the old guy in the video R.C. Bates. He was also in last action hero if anyones interested lol

  • wicked movie

  • This is Steve and Edie singing as though this was a lounge song. I hope Chris Cornell was extremely pissed off about this.LMFAO! Paul Anka has a version of this song too!

  • Whoever uploaded this seems to be bored in his/her life.

    BORING.

  • Actually, this makes the video even creepier. Nice.

  • hilarious and awesome

  • Yeah, blackholesun is one of the greats.

  • hahahahahahaha

  • Uma das melhores músicas ja escritas...awesome!!

  • clearly not SG but good cover

  • xD

    musica de supermercado

  • @TheJam27 Toda la razón xD 100% mejor la original.

  • Just goes to show how brilliant this song is......It doesn't rely upon a specific stylistic interpretation to have it work........

One of the best songs of the '90's!!!

  • xD some of you people just can't take a joke! some of these comments are hilarious

  • :D .....

  • Comment removed

  • hahahaha

  • CRAP!!!

  • i think Paul Anka's version is better jaja

  • The audio is Steve Lawrence and Eyde Gorme's version of the song....both brilliant singers with huge history-no jokes here :O))

  • You sure this isn't Richard Cheese singing?

  • You people take this too seriously. Obviously this is a joke.

  • who is doing this retarded cover?

  • you know to the original version is what you drink some hard jack daniels from the bottle and just wallow away...

...this version make me just want to sway my head with a smirk, snap my fingers and hold a dry martini.....

outside of mislabeling the video, i think it is a pretty nice arrangement of the song, me being a SG fan, but is classically trained. I dont like the woman's voice though....it would be better if she was gone.

  • lol you wallow when you listen to black hole sun?

  • u dick

  • first studio version :D ... maaan you're beyond stupidity

  • lol yeah right!

  • wow

  • what a fag

  • amazing arrangement, mr.cheese actually made a great recording out of this one. thanks for posting, I can dig it :)

  • ... I busted my ass laughing. This must be Richard Cheese. I love that guy... if its not, its an abomination.

  • Why did i lmao at this?

  • sounds super gay

  • sounds like jose castelo branco

  • lol

  • It's Richard Cheese Be-yotchezzzz! ROFLMAO!

  • lol

  • Why would anyone mistake Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme for Soundgarden? It's not the first studio version, it's a cover that Steve and Eydie did in the mid 90's for a mix album. It's actually pretty cool synched with the video - it works done in a mellow way like this. They sang it like a ballad.

  • lol wat the fuck is this frank sinatra??

    lolol

  • you piece of shit! don't mislabel a video like this, you flaming faggot!

  • OMG!!! i can´t believe there are ppl here who think this is soundgarden ,plz!!!!! open your ears ,nice cover though!!!

  • that is the shit!

  • I love it! :)

  • i'm not convinced this is real, kinda sounds like pat boone...

  • this is Steve and Eydie

  • Chris sounds allot different on this version.

  • thats not chris, he dosent have the range to sing that low.

  • he does lol

  • Lol...

  • Let's not be stupid here. This is not performed by Soundgarden. It is performed by former 60's crooner Paul Anka. You can find it on his album Rock Swings where he covers a number of rock songs in lounge style.

  • you serious??

  • cmon'

  • i feel light headed when i listen to this version

  • I want to hear a lounge version of Big Dumb Sex.

  • I'd like to see that

  • i kind of like this, its relaxing

  • richard cheese, u disappoint me

  • lmfao

  • wow lol

  • Rofl.

  • this is very relaxing

  • great!:-)))))

  • hahahahhahahahahaha

this really cracked me up! :))))

I wonder if Chris Cornell has ever heard this version of his song :))) And what he thinks about it :)))) LOL

  • that's fucking awesome

  • LMAO!

  • you son of a bitch

  • Lyin ass....but i like how u mixed it in with the video!!!!!!!!

  • i prefer the special effects version a 100x. Is faster and it sounds much nice.

  • Ahhah!

  • You ought to be ashamed to claim this as the first studio version.

    Fucker

  • Humor

Try finding a sense for it, yea?

  • Not when the video is this shitty.

I'd find humor in humorous things. Trust me.

  • steve & eydie hook it up....they sing black hole sun like they own it! absolutely beautiful

  • I like it!

  • bullshit

  • :)))))))))))

  • Sounds like Steve and Edy to me.

  • Totally. A radio station in Austin played this about an hour ago. I had to look it up. This is a great fucking cover that just fucks with my head. I love it.

  • this is paul anka!!!! My father has got the cd! It's called: "Rock Swings".

He covered the rock classics in swing way.

The tracklist is: 1) it's my life 2)true 3) eye of the tiger 4)everybody hurts 5)wonderwall 6) black hole sun 7) it's a sin 8) jump 9) smells like teen spirit 10) hello 11) eyes without face 12) the lovecats 13)the way you make me feel 14) tears in heaven

    THIS CD SUCKS!!!!!

  • is this richard cheese?

  • haha stupid but hilarious

  • What the fuck?.... well, this was shit...

  • What...The...Fuck?

  • For the first time the video makes sense O.O

  • i like soundgarden but this is good too.

  • I find Steve and Edie's version quite moving and entertaining.

  • Yah, is a fantastic version

  • *speechless*

whoever this is BUTCHERED the song!!!!!!!!

    it-was-pathetic!!!!!

    quite funny tho

  • I think its Paul Ankas version

  • this is Richard Cheese's version you can tell because he is so unenthusiastic while singing.

  • im pretty sure this is richard cheese

  • yea that guy does an awesome job for a lounge singer cover mainstream songs

  • lol! That is just plain creepy...

  • -falls on floor- THAT WAS GREAT!! XD I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

  • pretty sure this isnt soundgarden since that sounds nothing like chris cornell

  • Wow!

    Fantastic version. Thanks a lot.

  • lol. this is absolutely terrible.

  • I'm a diehard fan of SG too, but this was very funny. I sang along to it satirically. =)

  • paul anka made a version too of this awesome song

  • It's Richard C. singing it.

  • It's definetely not Richard Cheese's voice.

  • hahahaha

  • Lol, cute. Thanks for the laugh.

  • cool:P

  • Even though I am new to Soundgarden and I love this song, I thought this was interesting

  • lol this is like some unrecognized bastard son of sinatra trying to make his shit listened.

1:05 my face while i was watching

  • Ouch....that was painful

  • Ok, so you're telling me youjust putted paul anka's famous over of black hole sun on the original footage?

lame dude. i'm argentinenan and even here we know that version...

you should reconsidere a couple of things

  • For all the hardcore diehard fans like "it aint soundgarden" ligten up ,Im a hardcore fan and loved it ...Laughed my ass off

  • Steve and Eydie rock this song--although their style is decidedly different, I think they do this song justice, and it is kind of haunting and strange and definitely lounge-y. Awesome!

  • fucking asswipe!

  • excellent!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea right. this aint soundgarden.. you probably know that, why waste everyones time with your shit...
