  • tell me, how is this not an ad? "...very sporty performance out of this vehicle, It will be powered by a 150 hp...as well as a 27 hp 20 kW electric motor" Only the manufacturer will claim that is sporty

  • if that exact model comes out in a large variety of colors, a se and a "gli-c" version, this car would be a hit.. i would get it in black ;) but the only problem is that it would beat out competition too badly, i think. all the top companies work together to generate fair income for each other and vw would dominate the other "middle class" coupes with this one, definately. so unfortunately, we may or may not be able to see this car in production we'll just have to wait and see what "they" do..

  • Jetta Coupe... VW proves once again that they are idea-less company that just takes what they have, make two things different and kicki it out as a new model... reminds me of YUGO and Zastava's approach to design / making cars.

  • Nice looking car I wouldn't mind having one, makes a good personal car. Please don't cheapen interior or if they do make it available with the option of choosing cheap versus upmarket interior.

  • holy shit. if i were to choose a hybrid it would definatly be this one. that way i can still get pussy while getting better gas milage and helping out our planet a little bit

  • somebody been taking notes from BMW

  • ah man I wish it were gas not battery

  • I love the new VWs, soo sexy

  • From the B pillar back it`s just a BMW 3 series coupe copy.

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh volkswagen for ever

  • I would buy one in a second...

  • if they put it in production it will compete with audi a5 and since it's the same company it seams rather unlikely to happen

  • @theonesillyboy I think for the same reason it´s likely to happen

  • audi A5's back :D

  • mmmmmmmm verry nice I LIKE it !!!!

  • this is the real Scirocco not the current car that they claim to be the Scirocco

  • Jeez, I hope they come out with this. All these companies make these beautiful concepts and never produce them.

  • Car companies show us one thing and then build something else. I doubt that it will look that good.

  • I never cared much for VW, but this one looks awesome!

  • it looks like jetta coupe

  • Looks like A5 + new Jetta

  • Why make it Hybrid? Put a diesel in it or don't do it at all.

  • @UberWagen Or go hydrogen

  • @s54bmw Too dangerous. Not to mention, it takes more energy to create hydrogen than the hydrogen itself can actually produce. Electric and Diesels are the only answer.

  • @UberWagen How too dangerous? It's holding cell could be involved in a plane crash and still survive (made just like the black box in an airplane). You can get hydrogen from local sources such as water treatment plants, landfills, and so on that already generate hydrogen and are just dumping it into the atmosphere. Hydrogen is the most plentiful gas in our world. Do some more research on it. Heck even Top Gear did a test on the Hydrogen car. Look that up.

  • @s54bmw As far as providing power for electric cars and homes, solar, tidal, wind and hydro power is what I had on my mind when I made the comment. Coal and Oil power plants are absoultely retarded. You can't just plug an electric car into the grid either, there's not enough supply. You have to remember too that water treatment plants, landfills and what not still use power from the grid for that hydrolosis they do. Hyper charging is in development as we speak for E-Cars, takes less than an hour

  • @UberWagen Plus - Electric - where do the batteries go when they go bad? Landfills - terrible for the environment and takes a LOT of energy to produce. Plus Hybrid cars still have a combustion engine which = emissions, or elecric only cars take forever to charge, and where does the electricity come from? Power plants = pollution. diesels - NOT at all an answer because it is still a fossil fuel and still produces emissions.

  • @s54bmw Batteries are very easy to recycle, the lead can be recycled, the acid can be neutralized with very cheap substances to be brought back to water, and the plastic of course can be recycled. I don't like Hybrid cars either, if anything, I like pure electric. There's always going to be a petroleum industry, there will always be some kind of pollution. Diesel is very clean and efficient now, and it's still abundant.

  • beautiful

to bad only for 2 people :(

  • Looks eerily like an Audi A5

  • AMAZING! and beautiful! I hope VW puts this car into production EXACTLY as it is.

  • 8 sec is not enough ... a normal civic hatch 1,8 ..can do it in 8,6 sec .. with 140 hp..

  • @afghanakk you need to calculate weight, fuel consumption...45 mpg is great with that kind of performance

  • @chakijaSMB yess but it coast alot more than a civic on the long run you dont save so much by getting a few mile more per gallon

  • @afghanakk this is 2 classes above civic..so its normal to cost more. if you compare vw with civic you can take golf..1.4 TSI,1.9 tdi,2.0 tdi, GTI...

  • That car looks sick!

  • Very Nice... Sharp

  • HOT DAMN that's one fine looking ride!

  • this looks like the car audi was supposed to release and by the way it's nothing more than a jetta coupe... if vw decides not to overprice it I'll get mine in Diesel

  • coz it's Audi A5 at least it looks like.. VW just want more money. Car looks very nice.

  • Does any one know if and when they r planning on building this car?

  • it looks like a audi

  • jetta coupe

  • Add a bloody 4-litre-V8!!!!

  • my god, what a lovely car....look at the rear lights....aahh, just the whole car....

  • OMFG I WOUDL JUST DIE TO HAVE THIS AS MY FIRST CAR IF IT IS PRICED RESONABLE

  • Make it awd turbo and name it sirocco

  • this looks slick

  • It looks washed down. I don't like them.

  • yeah A5 clone

  • I'll take one with the TDI powertrain. Barbecue CATS and DOGS. EAT MY SHIT.

  • the backlights are really audish, and the coop too

  • @MusicnDraw Its the other way round.

  • Looks great!

  • I really really like this car. I hope it is produced.

  • woaw, a vw i would really really like to have. the other vw's look okay... but not cool in anyway (apart from the passat cc)

    but this one looks niiiiice.

  • A mere MKVI jetta coupe. If they manage to make the MKVI GLI out of this baby, it's gonna be a bomb!

  • @PELUDINCALENTON I'm sure it'll come with a 2.0T. I'm just hoping they include that interior. I think I speak for everyone when I say it's fucking nice.

  • great

  • rear end looks too much like audi. don't like it.

  • That's a Jetta coupe.

  • Looks like a hit. But, I wouldn't touch it unless they fit it with 4motion and a 3.2l.

  • @artoodaytoah Why? AWD is heavy and unneccesary. 2.0T with a simple stage 1 APR would get better power and torque than a 3.2

  • @kbs1664 Because I live in Montana. Need AWD for snow and bigger displacement for better performance at higher elevations.

  • @artoodaytoah You don't need AWD. I too live at a high elevation (whistler BC) and I drive a 96 jetta that is slammed on coilovers. With snow tires I can get around EASY. Never been stuck driving up or down the mountain. My car is so low the oil pan scrapes on the snow and I get around just fine. Keep in mind bigger displacement isn't everything. I've driven the 2.0T and it is definitley powerful enough. With an ECU flash you will get minimum 250hp and 290 TQ.

  • @kbs1664 i've been driving an Integra gsr for the last two winters so I know it's possible to do it. but i've also been stuck spinning one wheel up the side of a steep hill while sliding backwards. a good LSD would help, but that's an impractical investment in my beater. you learn to deal with these issues, but i'd prefer to have the safety of quattro.

  • Very nice... now how about coming back wth the Corrado?

  • let me get one in a manual

  • Super!

    In my target

  • want it, with the 2.0T!!!!

  • at 0:30, 0:45, 0:50 and 1:10, the back looks like the peugeot 407

  • Comment removed

  • This is GORGEOUS. Looks BETTER than an A5

  • VW owns audi you wankers, just like audi would never have the tt if it wasnt for vw . it was going to be the new karmann ghia that sits on the gti platform.Thats why some hardcore vw fans shaved the audi tt badge and put the vw karmann ghia in its place.Any real vw fan would know this and would know the car companies vw owns.

  • Looks very sexy.

  • i think it`s the most beautifu car in the world atm ! LOVE IT ! oh and the sls from merc ...even the new polo ...

  • this is more audi concept

  • this is rreally bringing Hybrid cars out. this is one of the hybrids ill buy besides the mercedes s400

  • Es el jetta 2011 Hibrido...

  • ya its an A5 hybrid. 8.1 not bad for a hybrid.

  • UNA PREGUNTA YA ESTA EN MEXICO SI NO CUANDO LLEGA ESTA CHINGONCISIMO

  • i have to admit simply one of the best cars looking ive ever seen..

  • Thestig576 lmao... this car is fu*ing beautuful!

  • Its the mona Lisa of cars, smiling but hardly. Check out the new Ford Focus Sedan and tell me which is um... more outstanding.

  • hella clean rims and a drop would be just ridiculous : ]

  • ill drive that, and a volt :D

  • That's not a car!! That's Pornography!

  • WTK!! This is a FAKE!!! Audi A5

    really don´t like the car

  • @nabilaloris VW owns audi you retard thats why there using its syling cues, and you like audi right, there using lambo parts so stfu

  • Do want! In <3 I think!

  • audi is a part of volkswagen.. and this car is the beautifulst fusion at the last ten years..

    volkswagen.. drivers best..

  • Audi...

  • i think I'm in love:x

  • Very audi-like design

  • I don't know what you guys are talking about; I think it looks great. Sleek with sharp corners and smooth lines, but not overly stated.

  • Cok Super (Y)

  • can any one tell me about "HYBRID CAR" technology????

  • COPY AND PASTE FROM AUDİ A5

damn all audi cars looks same

  • What's your point??

  • Design is to simple, like they fear to do something original.

  • If you think that it's not bold and simplistic then I think you miss the point of the car if not the fundamentals of design. It is sharp, stands out in the crowd and exudes the brand. Also, it is a design that will look good for many years. Design is about subtleties and detail. No shortage of that here. Show me any car that looks similar. I challenge you...

  • @krashevich agree man that isnt unique design..

  • your'e sort of right but at the same time soo wrong - tell me why the more expensive and slower golf is always a better allrounder than some focuses, meganes, mazda 3's and astra's? - because it's just more serious... same with this one

  • To tell the truth, I wasn't talking anything about the speed but the design of VW.

When it comes to efficiency, reliability and quality, VW is a great car and the smartest choice.

  • SEXY!!!

  • We're happy to see this concept. It's much needed and almost past due. Now we want one! Check out our video!

  • Comment removed

  • now a little 4.3-V8 and the will be fun...

  • EUROPE RULZ!

  • its like a baby A5

  • The sexiest hybrid I have ever seen. Maybe,

  • VW makes AMAZING CARS but i agree i would never want to tell anyone my car had 170 HP but if your looking for a combination of style and fuel economy, this is for you. I currently own a 2006 VW rabbit and a 2010 GTI which is my pride and joy

  • @MarylandsFinestFTW what do you mean 170 HP is a lot of power if you compare ir with its rivals

  • it us but I'm just saying I would never buy one I like power under the hood.

  • damn, from the a pillar back it looks like a bmw

  • from side it look like bmw coupe e92

  • really sharp looking car. Needs more power though.

  • The most unremarkable design ever. Volkswater...

  • audi A4 coupe, very good looking. only thing is that it's fwd

  • I've said this before and I'll say it again: it looks like an A5 that was beaten with a boring stick. Though I guess there's nothing wrong with that considering it's a VW...then again VW's are hardly cheap these days.

  • I wish it would go into production but instead have it rear wheel drive a 6 speed traditional gearbox in the middle and a turbo charged v6 up front

  • if it goes into production im sure they will have other engine options than the hybrid. BRING BACK THE VR6

  • When are they going to make a diesel hybrid??? The TDI gets about 40 mpgs alone... if you add a hybrid system to that... we are talking in the 70 mpgs... no?

  • @OneOfaKind949 alittle too much

  • Concept? That looks 100% road ready. I hope they don't water it down.

  • audi a5 in vw form? ok, but why is it a bloody hybrid? if it were a diesel, i'd actually consider it. why are they ditching their diesel heritage? in europe, their bluemotion cars are cleaner and more economical than the toyota prius.

  • looks like a saab to me

  • ill like to see that thing with a nice v6 or v8 up agents the BMW M3

  • Volkswagen is the best...

  • Wow.... I am amazed how people drool over these cars! Just in case you guys don't remember, this is still the same company that developed that P.O.S. Beetle, that somehow managed to survive this long. Its seems like VW thinks its like Mercedes or BMW when, in a matter of fact its not. Poor durability do not surprise me, but boosting the overall upkeep on these cars is simply moronic, when its still the same shit from over 50 years ago.

  • It's the "same shit" because it works.

Secondly, it is not the same. Volkswagen is one of the best car companies out there at this moment for the prices they stick onto their windshields.

Btw, VW owns Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and various other car companies, so there wouldn't even be a need for VW to step up their game, because they're fine where they are now

Thirdly, Poor durability? Are you pulling these out as you go along?

  • Lamborghini?! i thought it was only Bugatti...this is a wacky world....

  • uh, yah... Hence one of the Audi A8 packages having a Lambo engine

  • Yes, I mention poor durability because even when I took my 2006 Passat 2.0 T to the recommended servicing, it still had numerous braking problems leading up to me having to pay a total $2,800 in repairs. The entire time from when I owned it new, the sunroof constantly leaked, even after replacing 3 sets of sills and felts.

So, when I say poor durability, I damn well mean that these cars aren't built for basic suburban living and I will never think of purchasing a VW again.

  • you got bad luck bro, ive had my 2001 jetta for over 5 years and the only thing that ever went wrong with it was a faulty 02 sensor that the dealership fixed for free

  • if you bought the car used i wouldnt be surprised with all the problem you have but if you got a brande new VW Passta from a dealership that would be very surprising

  • @unclezarashka

I purchased it new from my local VW dealership here in Orlando, FL. I owned a 2006 VW Passat 2.0 T for all of two years. I became fed up with insane prices for simple check-ups and oil changes, along with the brakes malfunction that nearly killed me and the sunroof leaked every time it rained.

VW is quite possibly the worst European car designer, and I stand by that.

  • Why are you changing oil at the dealer, anyway?

  • Because when I went to a local European car specialist, the ended up putting the wrong oil type into my car. Which caused it to run very sluggishly for about 2,000 miles, until my next check-up which I made sure was done at the dealership

  • gorgeous

  • Concept coupe reminds me of the Audi A5

  • the guy said BMW but i agree with you it reminded me of the Audi

  • make this now vw!

  • This is A car for the peopele for shure......

I guess those assholes forgot what VW stands for ...

  • Anybody else see a better looking 1-series when watching this video?

  • better looking, those are sooo ugly

  • I agree that it looks like an Audi, but there is nothing wrong with that. I have always been an Audi and VW fan. I love german cars.

  • it is very nice though and with 45 mpg im interested

  • 8.1 sec wow that is spectacular NOT!!!!!!!!

  • That's hugely impressive when it's coming from a Hybrid that gets over 45 mpg. That's what, 4-5 seconds faster than a Prius?

  • @Weazell i know i realized that after i wrote that comment thats why im very interested in this car it looks very nice and the performance is more than acceptable

  • its hot!

  • Two words:

    That sucks!

It doesn't look like an VW to me,it looks more like an Audi clone.

    Plus it's damn hybrid pussy-car.

I hope this will stay concept for ever, because it sucks on the front of the Jetta and Passat.

  • @truebassB i agree it looks more like an Audi, where has the VW design gone to?

  • To the past :S

Now it's one more company from those who have completely change their cars' look to a crap.

  • Edward looks pretty tired

  • The new Jetta coupe, anyone?

  • 1080p, nice.

  • Its definitely audi A4 looking car...

  • looks like an audi

  • it does look like an audi A6

  • they should make that car.....tho at first....look like a bmw.....really close body lines

  • They need to make a TDI hybrid.... the mpgs should get much better.

  • Yes, I have always wondered why they didn't do that.

  • he says new concept coupe, but on the car it says new compact coupe!
