  • GHEY

  • my friend had an off-road car, we ran out of gas and he had recently solf his nitro rc trucks and he had a couple gallons of rc fuel left over, the car ran better on the rc fuel than even supreme gasoline

  • wow the sound on this video is just simply amazing

  • First off, it might be a good idea to have an actual running engine on a vid that says “B&S running on nitro.” And hold on a second. Wouldn’t you have to drill the shit out of the jets (assuming your engine is an old enough model to even have removable jets) to get the right air fuel ratio for nitro? Especially the intermediates which tend to be pretty lean on small engines.

  • For everyone that says briggs does not make a 2 stroke..... Why do I have a bottle of briggs and stratton brand 2 stroke oil in my garage?

  • yup i can really see it running on nitro :|

  • haha i have lots of that in my basement... my ofna sorta ran away and hit a tree head on...

  • no there not ur wrong sorry

  • Ok Dr.,tell us.We'll see!

  • any engine will run on rc fuel i had a 18.5 twin brigs running on pure rc glow fuel

  • what is "rc fuel"?

  • @captainebkirk u never heard of glow fuel for .5 to 8cc motors

  • You can take a lit match and through it into some nitromethane that has been poored onto the sidewalk and it will not burn.(like K1) but,if you hit it with a hammer,it will explode! You need a very violant ig. source. Ignition is the problem, but he would have lost his toes if it fired with that block!

  • glow fuel is only 20% nitro on average, the vast majority is methanol. Methanol will ignite with a spark, and that methanol ignition provides the violent conditions necessary for the nitro to go off.

Something similar happens inside a glow engine, only instead of a spark, it's heat produced by compression and a glow plug kept lit by a chemical reaction between the platinum in the element and some of the nitro that initiates combustion.

  • Diesel person...got to give em credit though.

  • @TestECull Cool! I always thought the glow plug was just kept hot by combustion. I had no idea it was a chemical reaction. Ya learn somethin' new every day, (if you're paying attention.........)

  • @CrudeDude Combustion heat does help it stay lit, but it's not the primary means. Combustion heat DOES control ignition advance, though. When you crack the throttle open it starts burning more fuel. This makes the entire chamber get hot. The glow plug will start getting much, much hotter and will tend to ignite the fuel earlier. This is why they still have power at 30,000RPM :p

  • @TestECull 30,000RPM , WTF are you smokin'?

  • @MerlinxPV Nothing. I just happen to know that an engine that only displaces a tenth of a cubic inch can rev like a mother fucker because, oh I don't know, perhaps because I OWN ONE.

The conversation you have rudely interrupted has nothing to do with the briggs in the video and everything to do with the engines the fuel it's running on is designed for.

  • @TestECull Even as a tool you are ignorant, proof abortion should be kept legal.

  • @MerlinxPV Oh boy. someone in the internet said I'm ignorant.

You hear that sound? Yeah. That's the sound of me not giving a shit what some random rude douchebag on the internet thinks about me.

    Go get aborted.

  • @TestECull TOOL and nothing but a TOOL, your mother was so unlucky, and no, I'm not related to you, Douche bag TOOL, keep you family names private,

  • @MerlinxPV Ok I'm fluent in idiot, AOL, leet and general internet text, and yet I have NO fucking idea what you're trying to say.

You must be in that region of pissed where you just start randomly blurting out obscenities. It's a shame, too, as I didn't even try.

  • @TestECull What obscenities from me TOOL? You are indeed a TOOL among tools.

  • @MerlinxPV Tool among tools? Is that supposed to be insulting? You're saying I'm useful amongst useful people. As in, more useful than average. Wouldn't that be a compliment instead?

  • hahahah then ask someone to see if it smells like a gas leak in the electrical system

  • sounds like someone is farting into a 20 foot piece of electrical conduit. In case you were wondering, I do it all the time.....

  • i couldn't agree with you more!!

  • so. its running RC glowfuel? first of all WHY? that fuel is $25 a gallon. plus i cant hear it running or smell the fumes so how do i know. and ive never tried to put that in a gas engine and it shouldnt run because it needs way more compression to burn.

  • We were trying to run it on a gas/oil 2 cycle mix and it didn't run right. we ran out of gas and all we had a gallon of rc fuel. after messing around with it for 20 minutes or so we took several videos but this was the only one that came out semi ok. About a year ago the sound went weird and I just didn't bother re uploading or deleting it. I wish I could motivate my friend to get it out and take a longer, better quality video just to prove its true, although the gears are all stripped out..

  • I found this video,and was,impressed that someone tried to start a single pisten eng on nitromethane.I hope I didn't insalt U on your efforts,but u-tube took me here.Good luck on the 2 cycle.ebk

  • Yeah I didn't hear it running....a regular briggs engine will not run on nitro...not enough compression. It takes a lot of compression to light nitro. Anyone who has been around drag racing long enough knows this...what a waste of time

  • I hate to 'pop your balloon' Mr. Rocket Scientist, but Briggs & Stratton doesn't make 2-strokes and the engine pictured is a 4-stroke.

  • It is a two stroke engine. I'm getting tired of people who don't know what they're talking about.

The quality of the video isn't good enough to show the engine. I can take close up pictures if I need to to prove that it is NOT a 4 stroke.

  • @thegreendoctor read what i wrote to him it kinda funny

  • briggs and stratton does make 2 stokes type it in and youll see theres a few on here

  • @JGMagoo first of all briggs makes 2 stroke and that is a pocket bike motor of the 49 cc kind it 2 strike but ur right it ant a briggs

  • @JGMagoo And I hate to make you look like a total fool, Mister Know-It -All, but Briggs DID make 2 cycle engines.

  • @JGMagoo i know a shitload more about b and s than u do and they do have 2 strokes, they even still have them on their site! fucktard

  • @JGMagoo your a dum ass Briggs & Stratton make 2-stroke

  • @JGMagoo um.. yes they did..

  • with sound???? sounds like aliens 1/6

  • its not running soley on nitro. its mixed with gas. ive done it before. maybe with a new engine with high compression .

  • Again, I will say: There was no gasoline in the tank, just RC car Nitromethane. Also, there could not have been any residual gasoline because we had been messing around with it for a half hour and the tank was empty before we put the RC fuel in.

  • maybe with the grade for drag cars but not with 2 stroke glowfuel . i'll make a vid and prove you wrong.

  • sounds like a hand cupped under an armpit like one of those armpit farts

  • I hear it too, it wasn't like that before. I mean its worked for 118,000 views without a problem...

  • Did you mount a nitro-powered engine on your bike?! Brilliant!!

  • dude if you had nitro in it it wasnt igniting not enought spark on the spark plug to light it and what you were hearing and smelling was raw fule being pushed threw the motor

  • Then why do I have a video of it running. there was no gasoline in the tank, just some Top Fuel 33% Nitro RC blend fuel.

  • Briggs & stratton did only make four strokes.

  • All I know is that its a 2 stroke engine and it says Briggs and Stratton on the side.

  • its a two stroke snow blower engine. dont say shit u dont kno

  • Thats not very reliable, you need a specialized carb that not only can withstand the nitro but can put enough fuel into the engine, you will need to run MUCH richer. Cool to try on an old engine, but not if you can't afford another one.

  • We were trying to blow it up but we ended up failing. It's still in my friends shed somewhere waiting to get new sprockets because we sheared all the teeth off of one of them. Lesson learned, don't use bike sprockets on a gas powered vehicle. Anyway, this project is on the back burner while we work on my II and his car.

  • could i run mine on a mix of gasoline+ naphta (zippo lighter fluid) ?... it woulh eb like a high octane fuel :D

  • i wouldnt do that youll blow the engine

  • well i tried it out ... actually it gives it more torque and a different engine pitch ... it revs faster but because it has a limiter it cannot rev wildly.Sounds awesome :D

  • yes it does but it wont last as long as a normal engine widthout it

  • kids...

  • Mr. firemun is right on......thats hazmat personified......that stuff is just lookin for a reason to burn. No preachin...just fact.

  • ALERT: If you are using nitromethane as a fuel the exhaust will have a high component of nitric acid vapour which destroys protein - like your lungs - thats why top fuel and funny car drivers are wearing a filtration type of respirator - be careful here.

  • Yeah, there is Nitromethane and/or Methanol in RC Car fuel. Burns the heck out of my nose when I happen to get a wiff. I used a scent additive so my nose won't burn but I can still smell it.

  • can you run nitro on a 10 hp vertical engine?

  • If you want to kill it like we did. Its not very good for engines not designed for it. The throttle control sucked because we used glow fuel And it probably was kind of dangerous because it kept dieseling at high rpm and the kill switch didn't seem to work too well.

  • i got a trick to it, i used to run 10percent nitro fuel in my old pocket bike, just mix it with the fuel, i did 1 litre of normal fuel and 100 mills of nitro, and it went hard and never hert it once , and the stop swich still worked but if you leave the fuel in the carby after you used it it will go like jelly and the carb will block up

  • kill switch wont work its glow fuel it compression igniton, try ading no2 to the mix you will kill your self i ran a scrapped out moped on 80% metanol 20% castor oil and a little no2 charge from a whipped cream dispenser, one word..............feck!

  • sure it wasnt a 2 stroke engine?

  • It is a two stroke engine. In fact, the description even says it.

  • Sorry my bad i am new to this, would have been awesome to try and ride it

  • It was fun and it had great pickup, in fact it was so great it snapped the rear sprocket off. Thats what my friend gets fro using a bike chain and gears.

  • kaboom clunk clunk clunk

  • that ignition timing would be way the hell off for nitro.

  • with sound? can't hear the engine at all-just noise. you need a better camera that can record more than 10 seconds....

  • It was with my cell phone and the first time I posted it there was no sound for some reason.

  • they have ONE rod. the CONnecting Rod. end of story

  • stupid!!!

  • thats a peace of shit

  • Uhh... What?

  • 2 strokes have rods dumbass if the 2 strokes does not have rod then how the fuck does it turns the crankshaft ya dont know jack shit about engines.... go and look here science d0t howstuffworks d0t com slash two-stroke6 d0t htm

  • LOOOL

i think he meant valves or something

  • heh figures.... owell

  • lol do you dont know wtf your talking about retard. They have rods you dipshit.

  • hes right 2 stroke engines dont have valves morons. you people need to do research and actually learn what 2 stroke means and how it works.

  • what about a rotary valve or variable exhaust valve?

  • threw a rod?

  • Nope. Still runs fine. Its running on R/C Nitro 33%

  • oh ok..... it sounded like it threw a rod or something but good job on the homemade moped

  • Its a cell phone video. It started dieseling because we're using glow plug fuel in a spark plug engine. thats why it sounded like that.

  • It wouldnt sound like that it sound normal because thats all i run in mine is nitro
