Since Big Bang is the highest rated comedy on tv, then having the two shows on at the same time forces people to choose between the two, and most people choose to watch the easier show. It really has nothing to do with the quality of the shows, it's just that they are the only two comedies airing at that time. Many people blame Big Bang and it's viewers for putting Community in this position.
