Hey its good, but I think there is a differnet chord in there after the F#minor Im not sure that it goes to bminor as before, it sounds like a differnet chord i will have to listen to the track again but the rest is great, thanks for showing. I figured out your finger parts quite easy
I dont understand this tutorial. :(.. You dont explain how to play the chords.. Like when you say "You know me" there comes something where you say f# and C# and then some on the right hand.. Problem is you don explain how to play them .. You dont say "Then you play F#, C# " and so on.. So i can get past the start.. It kinda sucks when its your favorite song...
Being able to see your fingers is key. All you must do from there is pause and write down the keys in order. Not difficult. Especially since reading notes aren't everyone's specialty. ;)
Thank you, you brightened my night in presenting me with a stronger possibility to comprehend what I am to do to perform such a lovely song. =)
I wholeheartedly appreciate your time put into this.
hey, thanks for doing this, trying to learn this song for a talent show, but I'm not very good at reading sheet music :)
i have a question though; I'm extremely confused about the leadup to the chorus with all the inverted D's... could you please explain? and don't leave out any notes! haha
A little confusing and difficult to follow....but pretty basic song. Once you get a bit down, you can just play mostly by ear. nice job over all. (peeps should just watch a couple times)
i understand chords and it was helpful for you to say them but i don't understand how to play the part where missy sings "you know me" in the first verse. it sounds like there is more to it then just chords. like a note after each chord? i am not sure lol. but thank you for making this tutorial! i absolutely love this song and i like playing and singing :)

i got a keyboard for christmas, only picked it up today to look at it, i haven't got a manual, i don't know any chord names of key names or whatever, and i could follow this perfectly, as long as i looked close enough and kind of... religiously practised. i hope you finish off the Where I stood tutorial, its so good :D i love this song, thank youuu. xx
Oh! Thanks so much for doing this tutorial, I really wanted to cover this, and in piano, instead of guitar like everyone else. although I'm rusty with piano, This looks pretty simple :)
I found this video really difficult to follow .. confusing! :S You should go slower and repeat the song from the beginning after each part .. it would probably be much easier for us. And the song doesn't seem to be exactly like the original one .. missing some notes. But well, if you hadn't done this tutorial i would never have learned it as well. Thx
Hey mate, sorry if it wasn't so easy to follow. I tried! lol
But no, the tutorial is exactly the same, because I'm guessing a few notes here and there too. But that's the beauty of doing a cover, you get to put your own spin to any song!
My sheet music doesn't start off this way. Also I agree, Fminor is DF#A, yes? You're hitting F#AC#, which sounds fine but its hard to follow along on my own :p
Does anyone have sheet music to this song so I can compare mine against. Maybe mine is wrong but it doesn't look like this..
Thank you! I really like this song. You wouldn't by any chance have a tutorial on Sugar Cane? That's my favorite Missy Higgins song. I am brand new to piano and use songs I really like for practice and your tutorials are nice and slow and easy to follow. Thanks =)
finally some one does a tutorial for this song! ive been looking everywhere, even for the sheet music for this and its no where to be found. thanks so much. you've really helped me. i have to do this song for class and you have become my life saver. thanks again. oh and also your really good
well im in college and im studying psychology but im taking a piano class for fun and we all have to learn a song and play it for the teacher and i got this one. but man, you came just in time.
i don't actually play piano, but we have one at home, so i learn how to play songs from youtube videos! haha. this is the best tutorial for this song. thanks again!!!
You are moving too fast... You are naming the chords but not what you are doing with the left hand, or the few keys in between the chords....

@xoLindsayMaddixo
The notes that i play are literally the 1st and 5th note of the chords.
So it's like F#, C# and then E, B
Does that make sense?
I'm just repeating the notes in the F# chord, and then notes from the E major chords.

mate this is way to confusing! not all of us know all the majors and minors! maybe try and connect with viewers instead of showing how much you know!
bree007 1 year ago
@bree007
it's quite difficult already to try and show via video how to play a song.
It would be too difficult to point out the hundreds of notes that would be playing.
It took a long to make this song.
The least anyone could do would be to look up the chords before hand as a reference or a guide.
Don't always expect things on a silver platter.
Thanks for your input though.

if anyone wants sheets, just youtube message me! :D
PearlsofMermaid 2 years ago
Yeah really well done, but you need to have another listen - the 3rd line of the verse goes Bm A E F#m E D A E - that's a D, not another Bm.

Great job JM! I love all your videos. Great teaching style. You're a star!
I wish you lived in Melbourne. I would have asked about lessons if possible (paid of course).
Anyway, keep up the great work and have a safe New Year!

Yep, I identified the chord wrong. It is indeed F# minor. So its still F# A C#
Sorry for confusion
JahjaMan 2 years ago
Hey man this vid was great except one thing I noticed. After the first 3 chords...you say that the next chord is F-minor...you're pushing F#-A-C#.
I don't recalling that F-minor.
I could be wrong, but i hope you see what I'm saying.

Hey mate, sorry for the late reply.
Yes, it's actualy F# minor. I just said it wrong =P
