@CoolDudeClem firstly, according to an interview i read, the equipment is actually fairly safe, despite its appearance. if you got shocked it would burn you but it likely wouldn't be fatal, there is also someone standing near the power switch at all times. secondly the "faraday suit" (metal suit) he's wearing evens out the voltage potential, keeping him from being burned

It provides a shorter, less resistive route to ground for the electricity and you get a "surface effect" with high frequencies where all the electricity flows over the surface with almost no penetration into the metal whatsoever.
