  • sometimes i sing this at the office....xD no one understands me u_u xD

  • down to the nail. genious

  • clowns

  • Check Camper Van Driver by Kludo White . Its very Rutles.

  • No Big Deal On the MisSpell ? Eric ~ Rocks ! <:

  • I would like to report this video as stupid!!!!!!

  • WOW there as good as the beatles!!! YAY!

  • for an earlier clip of a beatlesque band under palm trees, see the youtube clip of brazilian bitles "rio verao e amor"

  • Ouch...now I know where the Beatles got their inspiration.

  • i to have "takin tea" but i didnt swallow

  • Great parody on The Beatles "Help!"

  • God, Neil nailed that Scouse accent!! They said that when this was filmed Rikki Fataar couldn't even say the word 'Ouch', as we was laughing every time they did a take. They just had to release it as is.

  • oooohhh por que es identico a Help-The beatles , no habia derechos de autor en ese tiempo??'

  • Ouch! despite having some classic tunes, was a disappointment as a movie as the Rutles were stoned all the time. In retrospect, this was the beginning of the end of the fab 60's.

  • Oh, this is a parody of "Help!"

  • My question is: What was the plot for "Ouch!" LOL.

  • Featuring - Monty Python's - Eric Idol; Classic Stuff; LOL !

  • @meljpetra his name is eric IDLE. gosh, if you wanna impress someone with your knowlidge (but my guess is most people searching rutles allready knows he was in it) at least get his friggin NAME right!

  • @kyrastube If one is going to correct someone and impune their intelligence, one should spell KNOWLEDGE correctly, lol

  • @nolanfan626 english is not my first language. and dyslexia has nothing to do with intelligence

  • @kyrastube Dyslexia would cause you to mix up letters in a word, not put the wrong letters in, last I checked there is no I in knowledge. Dont get offended when you insult someone and then get corrected

  • @kyrastube also, I noticed your dyslexia did not affect the rest of your paragraph, do you have a very specific type, one that only affects one word in every 35?

  • @nolanfan626 no, I have been training very hard at it. and most of the time when Im writing I look up almost every spelling Im not sure of, but forgive me all over the place.

  • Only the refrain (i.e. the first thing you hear in the song) sounds exactly like Help! -- the rest of the song is similar in style, but not identical at all.

Still, I think it says something that I actually listen to this song as if it were an actual Beatles song or something.

  • And in the end, the love you save is equal to the love you made! And the Rutles left us a legacy of love! And brilliant songs and performances, from a cellar full of goys up to the Shabby Road swan song, let them rest in the luarels of our minds' epiphynies!

  • Can anyone clarify the rumour? Is their a new release of the video game Rutles Rock Band on the horizon? And what of digital remastering of their 13 studio albums? Has anyone heard if this is true? The Rutles must be waiting for the quality to match their phenomenal talent!

  • You win an internet award for dry humour sir : )

  • I love this song. Nasty is too hot.

  • Love this song almost as much as Help! Neil Innes was a brilliant composer and singer.

  • is it me or does this sound exactly like "Help!"?

  • lololol

I'd think the name "Rutles" would be a bit of giveaway...

  • sarcastic comment, my friend

  • Oh, no! It was so-named because it typefied the Rutland sound in Britain in the 60's.

  • I believe that was the point! Neil and "The Lads" were making fun of the Fab Four by singing a song with the same melody as "Help" and doing a video that resembles "Another Girl," more or less.

  • sarcasm, pal

  • Sorry. That personality trait doesn't translate well in print and I still remember hearing young people say "Did you know that Paul McCartney belonged to a singing group before Wings?" They could have been sarcastic as well but history is one of those subjects that has been dropped by many a school board, sad to say.

  • it's help plus the other beatles song and we got ouch!

  • Is this filmed at Camber Sands?

  • Of course he had a sense of humor, he married Yoko, didn't he?

  • this is not only funny, it's also great music! XD

  • barry wom is god!

  • Barry Wom is TWO gods! Yeah, he's TWO gods...

  • is fantastic jeje

  • awesome

  • and then there was ollie

  • Ooh, Ollie Halsall...one of the most underrated bass player ever. Also left handed like Paul!

  • I actually prefer this to Help!

  • I Love This; Beatles Parody of Help - Ouch !

Features - Former, Monty Pythoner - Eric Idol !

    LOL !

  • lol no idea why you got a -6, this song is awesome.

  • is that a guy or girl chasing them around??

  • its a girl but i am bloody surprised she can run at all lol

  • These cats were a total influence on the Beatles.

  • dude this is a beatles parity lol george harrison even helped make it and makes a brief cameo

  • parity?

  • parity: when you take something and exaggerate its most well known attributes.

  • You're thinking of a parody.

An imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.

A parity is the state or condition of being equal, esp. regarding status or pay.

    • a system of providing farmers with consistent purchasing power by regulating prices of farm products, usually with government price supports.

  • well at least you knew what i ment. some ones been on Wikipedia lol

  • I knew what you meant from your attempted definition of "parity".

I am also an English teacher.

  • this is a fake band in a movie called the rutles. baced on the life of the beatles but made funny and exaggerated:)

  • were did you think weird al got his insipration from

  • We got our inspiration from a Greenock band called "Clobber".....They had a an Lp called "Thee Besta Clobber".circa 1977..................

    enjoy!

  • Ray Stevens and Wildman Fisher.

  • this is the best song ever- followed by help. "Ouch! please don't hurt me!" is for some reason extremely funny

  • jajaajaj weno0 el video ouch! please dont hear me

  • "please don't Hurt me" xD

  • Love this movie! Saw it when it aired her and bought the album the next day, the guys (sans Eric) came to Beatlefest, they did a "press conference" which had me almost falling off my chair from laughing, and they played live, i think my friends and i scared them cause we sang all the songs very loudly right back at them *snort*.

  • it´s so funny

  • Brilliant

  • The Rutles "Ouch!" movie would have had the most box office sales in 1965 had other movies not drawn thousands more.

  • Haha

  • 1:27 is way funnier

  • 1:36 funny

  • jajjajaja

    q genial

  • No mamen ¬¬

  • Barry has been the landlord of the best pub in Cambridge for many years, top man!!!

  • I thought that Barry, the quiet one was the genius behind The Rutles. Ouch is outstanding song. I once that when Pink Floyd first heard this song that they decided to go a completely different way with their music. Deep Purple and Zep too. Sigh. What could have been.....damn you Barry...

  • luv itxx

  • The very underrated Neil Innes (of Bonzo Dog Band infamy) plays the John character and wrote most of the music.

  • eric idle wrote much,it is on broadway,in Spamalot

  • This music should be on Broadway as a show

  • Ouch! Killer song.

  • good song

  • YAY ERIC!

  • I remember seeing this clip for the first time in Feb/Mar 1978 on Saturday Night Live. Eric Idle was the host. I was hooked and have been ever since - Ouch was an excellent parody, and a cool little tune in it's own right. About 2 weeks after the SNL show "All You Need Is Cash" ran on NBC.

  • hahaha this is so brilliant

  • That "native" "girl" was funny but they would probably not dare do this today

  • Which is much worse. Why is white comedy like Bernard Manninng and Chubby Brown is tabooed today, whilst black comedians get away with the god-awful show "chocolate news", which is not funny one bit!

  • Never seen chocolate news and supporting "white comedy" by racists like Manning and Brown (and Davidson) was not my idea when I made the comment

  • My point was Chocolate News is equally offensive as those comedians, so why should it be allowed?

The same reason the native girl wouldn't be "done today" is for the same reason acts like Manning are not on TV today, so regardless of what your idea was, it is connected. Not that I am a huge fan of his act anyway.

  • Yeah.. and bollocks to the p.c brigade

they have made comedy what it is today..NOT FUNNY.

  • although it's a spoof of the Beatles i still like it as a song

  • i kno rite i personally think these songs are actaully good

  • of course their good, they are direct rip-off of beatles tunes and comedy classics!

  • THIS IS MY FAV RUTLES SONG OF THE FILM

  • Lol i luv it THE BEATLES ROCK though

  • I think the version by Paul McKarlsson and John Lennart was much better. This is just a rip off

  • It is a spoof, never meant to be a ripoff... George Harrison helped produce it!

  • george harrison is in it !

  • I get your irony, but don't think robertaxel did..lol

  • "All kinds of things, it seems, upset the apple cart."

    Genius. Pure, freaking genius.

  • Agreed, mdumas43073. One of their very best lines ! So pithy, yet such a universal kernel of wisdom...and expressed through simple yet sophisticated grammatical structure...Leonard Pinth-Garnell would need several trashcans at his feet to honor it sufficiently. Bravo!

  • lolRUTLES my friend henry ruttle would be proud :P

  • Just as funny as I remembered back from '87. Ouch!!

  • The music is actually fantastic. Well done to Innes; it's has that Beatlesque-feeling. (Not that I have any clue who these Beatles are??)

    ;)

  • Possibly the most brilliant parody ever--every song in this film is so spot-on Beatlesy! Of course George was in it, but I think the others would approve--even John, who takes quite a going over in it (as does Yoko!).

  • Lennon loved it. They sent him a copy and he said it was hilarious

  • Knew he had a sense of humour, ol' John. Reportedly he remarked that Hitler was on the telly when he saw a programme featuring a performance by Sparks--Ron Mael's 'stach bearing an uncanny resemblance to You-Know-Who.

  • cool, I've never seen the video b4, thanks for posting

  • funny

  • ouch! 1:34

  • A lot of people don't realise the Rutles were into Satan worship. If you play the first line backwards it goes "Traehym gnikaerb er'uoy hcuo" which as everyone knows is Welsh for "Neil is bigger than cod". It caused a lot of trouble at the time, but I can't see the problem.

  • hahah .. thats funny

  • for those who have no clue what this is its a film made by the makers of monty python called "THE RUTLES" grate movie. how many of you knew george harrison was a huge fan and worked with monty python on alot of there stuff

  • amazing film! neil innes (spelling?) is brilliant, he wrote all the music for this movie, and it's actually very good!!

  • I agree! When I first saw it I could not believe how good the music was! It's actually quite listenable on its own, too. Great film!

  • Lol I cracked up when the apples were falling on there heads. xD

  • They're truly a legend that will last a lunchtime

  • hahaha man this is so retarded gota love it hahh best movie and parody of the beatles ever.

  • And you are an insult to humanity and intelligence.

  • In what way :S

  • That was pretty interesting.

    5/5

  • lmao

Ouch! Dont Desert Me Ouch! Please Dont Hurt Me!

    lmao!!

  • very good song just greAT

    REGARDS FROM MEXICO

  • Ha Ha Ha ! They are just GREAT !!! :D

  • HAHA love this film and the soundtrack! awesome!

  • John loved The Rutles and "All You Need Is Cash" apparently - when a VHS copy and the soundtrack was sent to him for approval, he approved so much that he wouldn't send them back! :D

  • i saw the movie and it was awesome

    i love the names Dirk McQuickly,Ron Nasty,etc

    lol

  • The are amazing... I love Dirk McQuickly and Barry Womble ("I'd like to be a hairdresser. Or two. I'd like to be two hairdressers.") and of course "the trousers" *lol. And I'm "shocked..., and stunned" that there will never be a new Rutles song :-( "...very stunned"stunned

  • the Rutles r what they r they don't need me to describe threm

  • This is a classic! George Harrison loved the Rutles too!--I loved him and Michael Palin in the scene where Rutle Corps is being liquidated and this guy in the background is dragging all the phones and the fake bear out of the building!

  • ok?

  • Saw the pre- fab four minus two at the Liverpool philamonic, Neil Innes is the dogs bo=+#@ks

  • get with the programme vince........sour,leggy was the manager, ron was the singer in the band

  • Beuatiful satire! An amazing song also eh!!!

  • LEggy has Lennon's voice. Almost same.

  • I think we have to give to Leggy though.......what a legend

  • Brilliant. Long live the pre-fab four.

  • help is better...

  • Mmmm ...let me guess ...are you American by any chance? You just don't get it do ya?!

  • I'm American and I love the Rutles as well as Spinal Tap and Monty Python.

  • As you know, the original comment was to an American, who I can only assume, hadn't got your sense of humour. I'm sure you're not all the same. Or perhaps their irony was lost in translation.

  • aren't you the funny one! :))

OF COURSE IT'S BETTER, THIS IS JUST A PARODY, AND DAMN FINE ONE AT THAT YOU SILLY SO AND SO...

  • This reminds me of a post in response to a video for the Beatles 'Rain', which I took in the humour with which it was intended - "The Beatles were obviously listening to too many Oasis songs when they recorded this...", at which someone "corrected" him/her by pointing out that the Beatles backdated Oasis by several years! How the very obvious (to me, anyway) joke went over that person's head I don't know....

  • LMFAO!

  • "Isaid we were bigger than Rod,not God"..Ron Nasty,circa 1966...ha ha

  • Haha! Very funny! :DDDD

  • Love it! I still have the album that I found in a cut out bin in the early '80s. Definitely bigger than Rod!

  • LOL! So good! You can so hear that this is Help XD

    GREAT!

  • Ouch!better than Help!

  • it's called earwax. see a doctor about it! :))

  • Great

  • this is so simular to beatles help! did the beatles coppy these guys!

  • haha :D NO. This is a Beatles parody done long after The Beatles even broke up lol :D

  • El Oh El Zee.

  • Ef U See Kay.

  • Great stuff, i reckon a heavy metal version of this would be fun!

What year did they do the Rutles, was the end of the seventies? I remember my dad bought the album about that time.

  • It was filmed in 1977 and released in 1978.

  • ooh, sarcasm...^-^

  • LOL!!! This is so funny! It's making fun of "Help!"

  • thanks, i couldnt figure what song it was making fun of...

  • I saw the rutles last year in pompey (wedge) and thought they were awesome!

  • wtf

  • Neil and Viv both had an uncanny ability to do different British accents to a T...wonderful how Neil parodies John's vocal style.

  • haha thats the best beatles parody xD

  • haha thats the best beatles parody xD

  • How do we know it wasn't the Beatles who were impersonating the Rutles over the course of thier career?

I thought the Rutles put out enough great stuff to last more than a lunchtime.

  • what the fuck is wrong with you assholes,, THIS IS THE ONLY GROUP THE BEATLES ACTUALLY LIKED IMPERSONATING THEM,,all of ya CAN STUFF YOURSELVES as well

  • I agree with you heartofsnow23 Help! is terrible rent A Hard Day's Night and Yellow Submarine and Let it Be.

  • They tried to make this funny by ripping on Help! a great song they did great.

  • as a film, it was pretty dire, but im a big beatles fan and because i love the beatles i do find certain bits amusing, especially the apples on the head bit, ouch ! haha. I wish they would make a real film bio of the beatles...or lennon...

  • I just rented HELP from Netflix. Ugh, what a horrible movie. I should have just watched The Rutles again!!!
