  • Im putting serious consideration into enlisting but dont want to let my mma techniques just slip away. All the work Ive put into it, I cant just let it fade. Will someone PLEASE tell how how I can get into this program? I cant find out how to sign up for it anywhere.

  • basic armbars ^_^ hahaha

  • How would this against systema

  • @TheWarriorchamp Systema is for actual combat application whereas Modern Army Combatives is to develop your "fighting spirit" through combative sport.

  • this looks too fun

  • this bullshit is all sport based. I hope these motherfuckers aren't serious about using this shit in combat

  • @Martial art fanboys

Because MMA is so unproved and ineffective against live opponents. Lol.

  • I am currently enrolled in Karate. My Senpai (who is 3rd degree black belt) just got through BT. He says MAC is a complete joke. Really disappointing to hear. It looks like even the military is buying into the MMA craze. :(

  • @antikorper99

you dont learn shit about MACP in basic but maybe 10% of lvl one which is only 1 week outta a total 11 week process so he can really say anything about MACP you do not get lvl one certified in basic you have to go to school through your unit

i have done shoalin kenpo karate (villari 's MMA) and tai kwan do and im not trying to insult your senpai i know a 3rd degree blackbelt takes yrs to achieve and is a very impressive feat

  • @kylensloyer - I hope you're right, because our troops deserve the best

  • I plan on doing this once I enter the army national guard. Beforehand though I plan to train in bjj an wreslting. Continueing to do so while im doing combatives.

  • i heard that everyone now in BCT is trained in MACP level 1.

  • @Selino25

you see some lvl one stuff in bct but you are not qualified in basic

source: i am in the army and work with basic trainees everyday

  • @kylensloyer when i went through OSUT there was abunch of guys who got Level 1 certified

  • @Selino25 ok well i am not osut im am talking about juct bct ppl and they do things diffrently in osut are you 11b cuz it would make sense to have you guys at least lvl 1

  • @kylensloyer yea i'm 11B

  • This shits all MMA based, check out DEFENDU or LINE combatives, fuck the ufc

  • THE MODERN U.S. ARMY ADAPTING

  • It does look quite good but remember one thing. These guys aren't wearing full kit.

  • Ack, i didnt like the US troopers i met on duty. They were loud and annoying as hell. And afew of them looked out of shape.

Not dumb like people would think, they're smart guys.

Now this isn't MMA or Sport fighting, this is self defense. Alot of guys in the army are taught taekwondo, Krav Maga, and this other i cant spell. ITs a Singapore martial art similar to Kung Fu. That one is popular with the Elites like SAS.

  • Is is possibly called goshinkwai yawara?. If so the SAS has been using this fighting method for quite a while.

  • If its pronounced the same as how the other guys told me then it probably is goshinkwai yawara.

  • @hazza3 Kuntau?

  • @pedinkus Thats it!

  • has anyone done the cqd stuff by duane dieter? & if so, are there any differences to the army combatives?

  • Nice to know U.S. troops get trained in close combat. I did my 9 months tour of duty in germany (conscript) and when asking about melee training our sergeant just told us to "hit them with the rifle".

Well, good advice, if the rifle (G36) is also nicknamed "toy weapon" for many components are made of plastic. I guess I wasn't imporant enough though, the only time I would see combat would be if Germany got attacked.

  • i am planing to cross train into combatives starting january.(friends big brother started a gym a month ago) my base martial art is judo.

what will be the postives aspect to training in combatives?

    what are the negatives?

and how will my judo help or negate my training in combatives.

the more detailed the better. thanks.

  • Level one and two don't really go over anything but the basics, but by the time you hit level three you should be able to hold your own in damn near any fight. Although, level one really only teaches the basics; it seems to teach Soldiers just enough to get their asses beat.

  • is this mma?

  • Generally speaking, yes. It's like MMA plus some additional stuff.

  • Personally, this has led me to believe that a better name for what someone like myself trains in (rather than MMA) would be "full-range combatives" or something along those lines. Whenever you mention MMA, the ninja nutriders instantly go all "DATS A SPORT" on your ass.

  • Its a lot nastier than MMA. It isn't about knocking someone out or getting a submission but about killing.

  • *sigh*

It's based on exactly the same arts. It has the same focus.

Instead of getting a submission with your rear naked choke, you can kill the guy. Same with any other choke. Instead of submitting the guy you can rip his arm off with an armbar. Instead of throwing him on a mat you're doing it on concrete.

MMA is absolutely deadly. Only the respect for the tap and the presence of the referee stops deaths from occurring. Your statement is a misnomer.

  • Thats my point. marital arts are like fairy tales. They have been toned down by today's society when their original forms are extermely brutal.

  • very true man. very true.

  • you're right. but its the combination of the sports fighting with real scenario based training that makes it what it really is.

  • Boxing or any form of martial arts is absolutely deadly, what stops you from kicking the lviing shit out of a guy you just knocked out? And no this is not nastier than MMA, the army and other police forces use this more of self defence, they are not trained in any way to actually kill another human in unarmed combat

  • @AmericanWarrior1776 Uh, no it really isn't nastier than mma nor is it for killing

  • Matt can teach you to be "one bad-assed" MO-FO.

  • In my opinion, this is the best school in the Army!

  • are they sending soldiers through this course now...may be I can negotiate my way into it if i decide to reup my contract this year.

  • Level 1 and 2 you can get probably from your regular duty station if not your unit. Level 3 and 4 are the school house in benning.

  • Hell of a way to earn a 1059 (Training Certificate)
