my first ever doo wop single bought in about 1981 from a market stall in Halifax and the rest is histroy (for me I guess), doowop is the music of the angels
This was the time of "kissin, love me baby". Real melody, smooth, lovely sounds, not the drug-laced crime RAP that purports to be music. The best of emotions, caring, and love were found in doo-wop. This was the time of drive-in movies, dancing with your babe, make-up, break-up, rock N' roll, heart aches, heart breaks, and heart throbs.
Originally released on Fury Records 1000-Lymon Lewis And The Teenchords - (A) I'm So Happy(Tra-La-La-La-La-La)/Flip Side (B) Lydia~1957, It was also released in the 70s On Lost Night Records 357.
Anyway nice uploads moondawgshow, keep up the good work!
Actually there were four Lymon brothers and all could sing. Howard, Frankie, Lewis and Timmy. Howard sang lead on a song called United by the Lovenotes. Timmy sang with alot of groups, but could not get a hit record. Frankie and Timmy had identical voices. Lewis is the only one left today.
so both howard and timmy is dead? I knew timmy was gone, but wasn't sure of Howard. But since howard was the oldest, especially in the 50s, I had a feeling maybe he isn't living today. But wasn't sure.=(
lewis lymon is so talented he my not be frankie ,but he was one heck of a good singer and I think people should realize that; they were both so amazing and so talented.
Great !!! Good Show man...

If they would still be alive, they would be somewhere in their 70's.

@tbear4pa Lewis is still alive and well. He's 64 now. Frankie would have been 68 or 69.

Black people back in the day had a special tone to their voices that you don't find nowadays. Its like an accent or something idk.

I prefer Frankies voice more melodic. Lewis is talented though.
