  • It is great that a project such as this comes to fruition from drawing-board to the engine itself! Excellent footage, thank you.

  • Loved the last shot

  • @stephengthompson Thanks Steve - it was brilliant to hear her coming up the bank like that. Cheers, David.

  • Absolutely wonderful!! Very, very evocative, I will have to watch it again now......

    Cheers

    Alan

  • @ragl1 Thanks Alan, glad you enjoyed it so much. Cheers, David.

  • Congratulations David on producing such magnificent images, especially those in complete darkness.....a shher joy to watch...Bob

  • @robmasterman Many thanks Bob; I''ve always been one to head out when it's dark as although you can't see much, it all plays with your imagination and when it's still like that, there can be some really atmospheric moments. Cheers, David.

  • Fantastic video of the mighty Tornado.

  • @hurleyfunbags Thank you very much.

  • Liked this a lot- I was going to catch it north of Darlington but woke up with a filthy cold and couldn't be arsed so this was a great pleasure. It's a shame that YouTube doesn't cope very well with the subtlety of shading in the night scenes but they are very atmospheric.

(That;'s quite a flash the chap at Abington has- the crew must have thought the Bomb had dropped!)

  • @TimRuffle Thanks Tim. Yes that was my dad with the flash, quite a bonus and not planned as being useful for my video but it seems to work. Cheers, David.

  • Wonderful video David.

    Well worth the wait ;-)

Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

  • @ashbytimuk Thanks Tim, you're very welcome. I'm quite a fan of 60163 after this! Cheers, David.

  • Those night shots are magnificent.

  • @AndreiTupolev Many thanks - cold but I felt it was worth it.

  • superb shots of a superb locomotive, enjoyed and faved

  • @firemanvic36c Many thanks indeed.

  • not failing in any of that vid, 44932 aint at carnforth by the way.

  • @noelist Thanks for the info. - out for 5690 tomorrow. Bring on the clag!

  • Fantastic video - thanks for venturing out after dark to get the Beattock and Abington scenes, they convey great atmosphere.

  • @pauluksteam Thank you Paul; I'm glad the atmosphere of the moments has come through. David.

  • You may not post as often as you used to David but you've not lost the knack. Very enjoyable video full of atmosphere and wonderful sounds. Bet it was a bit nippy though. Chris

  • @khankadet Many thanks Chris. DIY is apparently limitless and I've missed quite a few tours thanks to it! Still, it's nice to get out when I can and I've been lucky with some great performances of late. Cheers, David.

  • Terrific video, especially the night shots very surreal. Drop off 3 coaches and she would surely fly over the rails with her permitted upper speed limit being allowed. A great performance over the 3 days, pity about the coaling problems encountered at Preston on Saturday. Thanks for a great bit of filming. Dave.

  • @rosegrovempd1 Thanks Dave, you're welcome. Indeed it was a shame what happened after Preston.

  • Excellent stuff. And there's nothing quite like a distant train whistle in the pitch dark to raise the hairs on the back of the neck.

  • @polbecca Thank you - yes it was quite eerie hearing that coming from the gloom.

  • Great video David at excellent locations. She was certainly flying at Beattock and Penrith

  • @acw71000 Thanks Austin; yes she performed very well before her troubles further south. QUite loking forward to her next tour up here whenever that will be. Cheers, David.

  • Superb video . Thanks for sharing.

  • @hemerdonbank Many thanks, you're welcome.

  • Brilliant video, bit cold filming a night. I like the smoke trails hanging in the air.5*

  • @EMuksteam Thanks very much; cold, but no wind, so it was alright when we got wrapped up.

  • Excellent stuff David, really unusual footage and, for once, an advantage to have a stills photographer in the middle of your shot! Alan.

  • @Steamclips Many thanks Alan; none other than my dad taking the still photo, so he has a special dispensation anyway. Cheers, David.

  • Superb footage David, especially the night shots on day 2

    Mike

  • @rab4472 Thanks Mike; thought we'd ignore the dark and just give it a go, it was nice just to be able to stand and take it all in once record was pressed on Beattock. David.

  • Great work, holding the viewers interest with a "night" screen is commendable. I certainly stayed to the end.

  • @Rocketboy1950 Thanks very much indeed.

  • Fantastic video David,love it!

Really glad you were on Beattock,i was begging for someone to be there!

Also i remember noticing you on the return on the climb to beattock on Saturday and hoped the person filming it would of uploaded it!

    Cheers,

    Mark

  • @alberta45562 Many thanks Mark - looked like a superb trip except for the final stages. David.
