  • im having problems getting my guitar setup using stealth plug. I plug on end to my guitar, the usb to the computer, turn the monitor on, and change the input and output on my sound preferences but i am not getting any sound on the computer. garageband shows that something is being recorded but when i play it back, there is no sound. how do you get it hooked up?

  • @salrap124 ) Connect the StealthPlug’s 1/4” jack into your guitar.

    2) Plug the StealthPlug’s USB into your Mac or PC.

    3) Connect the StealthPlug’s 1/8” mini-jack to Headphones, Amplifiers or Powered Speakers.

Basically the stealthplug also acts as a sound card so unless you have done number 3 above you may not hear anything.

  • @salrap124 i got it working thank you

  • hows the latency. It drives me crazy when theres even just a little bit

  • @ZAMtech1994 It wasnt too bad. Basically what you see on the video.

  • wow your sound is so much better than the official garageband demos by apple^^ maybe its because of the stealth plug? :D

  • @Naxtaros Thanks :D

  • are you using the digital audio input?

  • @NagualElias on which device ? If the stealthplug, I plugged the guitar into that and the stealth plug went into USB on the Macbook

  • Awesome video,Great sound John .

  • @RitchieBlackmoreTv Coming from Ritchie Blackmore, I feel honoured. Many thanks :-)

  • Thanks :D

  • Is there a way to hear what you are playing without recording? I just got the stealthplug in the mail today and couldnt hear wat i was playing until i pressed play aftdr i had recorded. Thanks

  • @jeibarra1 Yes its possible to hear what you are playing when recording, try Garage Band | Preferences | Audio Output and change the setting to suit your set up.

  • Dude Can You Explain with Some diagram How Did You Made The Connection ????

  • @AgroDTOP I will see if I can get this done on another video in a few days, as I have had one or two people ask me. Quite busy at work this week etc. so watch this space.

  • @gr1moire2112 THANKS MAN I'LL APPRECIATE IT !!!! TAKE CARE !

  • can i use classical guitar instead of electric guitar wif tis cable ?

  • @lostjunglexi Only if it is a classical guitar with a quarter inch plug. If it is a standard classical you would need a microphone.

  • @gr1moire2112 thanks~

  • how would you get stealthplug to work on logic. trying but cant figure it out.,

  • @mrlollol961 see my pm

  • id like to know how did you get the video of u in the corner and record into the mac so it can hear your speech but at the same time be recording the input of your guitar.. could you tell me how u set all that up. Im a new mac user with garage abnd and my stealth pedal .. i love it but i cant work out how to do what youve just done for recording (video and guitar audio) IK Multimedia said they dont know how .. but its obviously possible.. any help would be appreciated .. thanks

  • @gbx78 Its done with a program called Screenflow

  • @gr1moire2112 THANK YOU SOO MUCH for that. Finally i have an answer!!!

  • have you noticed any latency with it? i was thinking about paying up for the apogee duet, but i only need something to record riffs at home.....still, i can't stand latency.

  • @brendanisdead take a look at thevideos by dancetech here on You Tube, just search for "dancetech apogee" he reviews it in depth.

In Garage Band with the stealth plug it was pretty much as you see it here. When I put Amplitube on the latency was a bit too much for me. However I was doing this on a Macbook but with Apple software and apogee it should be acceptable. I dont have apogee so cant test it for you.

  • @gr1moire2112 have you tried the stealthplug with logic or ableton? i'm sure the apogee would work fine with all of them. it's firewire and all. but i just want something cheap that will not have latency, so i might have to try that stealthplug out.

  • @brendanisdead No I normally tended to use Cubase, I am considering Logic and various other things for a new set up. But I like the look of the time signature features in Cubase 5 so not totally sold on Logic yet. I don't think the Stealthplug will tend to be the main thing in whether you have latency, more the software and computer combination.

  • your guitar are plugs with your amp ?!

  • @justine10191 The guitar was plugged directly into the mac with stealth plug, and the sounds from Garage Band.

  • Good video man!

Did you record your webcam and screen at the same time or put both videos together after?

    Looks pro! :-)

  • @Wallimann Thanks. Both the webcam and screen were live at the same time with a programme called ScreenFlow.

  • @gr1moire2112 Thank you buddy! Looks great! :-)

  • can you record from stealth plug to garage band?

  • @jallelind In the video, the guitar in the backing track that I am playing over was recorded with Stealth Plug, the drums are a loop that came with Garage Band.

  • sweet job

  • @EritzColong Thanks

  • I cant hear the sound from my guitar when im playing, i can this on my toshiba laptop, but not on my iMac.. When i record it onto garageband i can hear it clearly.. Got any solution?

  • You need to make sure the red monitor button is lit on the guitar track. I have also found it sometimes only works when you first add a new track. Probably because it is meant for recording rather than jamming. Logic of course gives more possibilities. Let me know if this helps.

  • I have found out that to get sound in i need to go to system preferences, and set it there, but my sound out wont change, if i click on StealthPlug it doesnt change..

  • Ok, on the video, my headphones are plugged into a USB port on the Mac not into the headphone jack of the stealthplug. On the video, all of the sounds are captured via the Screen Capture software. Try using headphones into the Mac rather than the Stealthplug...

  • Why does your Mac look so good? Its such high quality.

  • Thanks, it was captured with Screenflow, rendered to 1280 * 720 to give the HD settings for You tube

  • what version of garage band is that if u can answer me ill really apreciate it : )

  • It is GarageBand '09. At the moment it is version 5.0.2 (358.6) basically the latest version

  • TNX SO MUCH!

  • I finally got it to work! All i had to do is to make a new instrument track in GB :D

  • Ok good...

  • what kind of cable or crossover are you using?

i bought a cable with a jack input and i cant record guitar sound its only some crappy feedback

  • It is mentioned in the video and the description, it is a stealthplug from ik multimedia. Google stealthplug you should find it.

  • Nice playing, garageband is fine recording software, i use it since april. Perhaps you would like to view my video? It's made with garageband as well.

  • Thanks Jan, will check out your channel

  • do ur guitar is plugges directly into the Mac? where does the guitar sound come out from?

  • You can either plug headphones or an amp into the stealth plug, or I have the sound coming out of the headphones I have plugged into the Mac

  • oh sweet . thanks so much, i've been looking for something like this for ages. So once its plugged in is the recording pretty straight foward?

  • Recording is no problem at all.

  • You play very well. Are you a professonal? Do you play ina band or used to?

  • Thanks, I am just noodling around here and it was off the top of my head. I used to play in bands doing covers and original rock bands many years ago.
