This product is pointless. They should focus on mobile. Portable media will be taken from cellphones, no one will want to carry cameras with them. Already no one does.
@somerandomvideo I'm not saying the concept behind the product is bad. And I guess they need a product to show what they've developed. But yeah they should be selling this technology to companies like apple and samsung so they can use it in their products.
jsu saying. thats the most epic setup ive ever seen in any room. loll

Could you project a light field like you capture one?
madadivad1986 1 week ago
Can you make an entire photo in focus? Or do you have to have a subject with a blurred background ?

U mentioned that there is no actual shutter speed so can the shutter speed be adjusted later like what is done with the focal points?

Huh, and that would be why Steve Jobs wanted Lytro in iPhone 5.

I honestly dont understand it. Yes, it interesting device.
But focusing is just an small portion of a camera needs.
Like, where is the ISO? Flash? I mean, looks more like a concept...
I don't know, I'm really looking forward to see for myself

I hope they don't succumb to an acquisition. This is a real discovery, they should license it to big camera companies.

Great idea and it seems like a good 1st implementation.
And I liked you first "pre" review of the camera. Very informative and
seemed well balanced.
Now if we only could have the re-focus feature on the interviews.
RS, when you have very interesting and knowledgeable interviewee, you should focus more on him/her. Let them do more of the talking.. :-)

good idea, but not ready to be sold. if you're a professional photographer, stick to your dSLR. use that $550 to buy a new lens instead.
