gavin rossdale and the rest of bush are great during their time in the 90's.......i have their album sixteen stone......i really admire this band.....specially COMEDOWN.....shocks it makes my day complete everytime i heard that track....
i love bush as much as the next person here, but at the same time i dont feel the need to put down lady gaga or justin bieber - people listen to music for different reasons and get different things from it, which is great, thats why its hard to find someone who doesnt like music, because you can take what you want from it - being a music snob is not what its all about, music is for everyone.
can't express in words how much i f**king LOVE this song - saw these guys at a free gig in sydney just after first album - have been in love with them (and most importantly, gavin rossdale!) ever since !!!!
First off "grunge" is not really a genres of music. It's considered more of a look or style. The video definitely has the look of "smells like teen spirit".Gavin singing doesn't sound like anyone in particular to me.But this song and some of their others sound more like Stone Temple Pilots. At least to me it does. And if Gavin had written better lyrics they would have gotten more credibility.
@Thor27436 Pearl Jam were formed in 1990, and sound nothing like Nirvana in reality. If Pearl Jam had relocated to LA (as was planned when they tried to hire Jack Irons as drummer) then nobody would have compared the two.
Besides, Gavin Rossdale tried to sound like Kurt Cobain. Rossdale speaks in a London accent, and his singing sounds like hes trying to put on an american accent. He sounds like Cobain, but cannot do the full on "boilling nails" scream that was Cobains hallmark
We used to cover this song or even play it in battle of the bands we gt 2nd place and 1st place goes to other band who plays lady gaga. what the heck.
love this song and in fact 16 stone was one of my all time favorite albums. It was a sad day for real music when the industry stopped supporting and promoting this kinda music in favor of utter shit like Gaga and Bieber, etc! Rock will never die.
@AusJackal i love bush as much as the next person here, but at the same time i dont feel the need to put down lady gaga or justin bieber - people listen to music for different reasons and get different things from it, which is great, thats why its hard to find someone who doesnt like music, because you can take what you want from it - being a music snob is not what its all about, music is for everyone.

Gavin Rossdale called Soundgarden a fucking horrible rock band in an interview some years ago. What a hypocrite and a fraud he is. This song sounds like a lame attempt to rip off smells like teen spirit, he even tries to sound like Kurt Cobain. Bush definetly were at the top of Seattle 101 class as far a copy pasting others music.
Bush has an unique way of singing. Its not Gavin's fault having a voice that looks like Kurt's.
There is no copy at all. The musics doesnt match even both being grungee. The fans are totally different, too. Bush earn their success and you'll never find anything that looks like them.
His "unique" way of singing is copying Curt Kobain. Not only do they rip off from Seattle bands, but also David Bowie as khukhem1001 has already pointed out. I guess I won't find anybody like them because nobody in their right mind would want to to be like them.
perhaps you should have your ears checked, it does not take a genius too hear the likeness of the two songs, aside from that crappy slide guitar. I am a big Nirvana fan by the way.
yeah, i'll say he wasn't right in what he said, but there's no real comparison between the two...their 2 completely different-sounding bands that happen to be from the same genre. and he has his own way of singing, not like kurt at all. but both nirvana and soundgarden could kick bush to the curb, but, without the comparison, bush is a great band on its own
He did indeed, I have it on paper as well. He calls Soundgarden a FUCKIN horrible heavy (that comment is on page 114 by the way) rock band and the smashing pumpkins he called a high fi coffee band. These statements he made in the 1997 january Guitar world magazine. Before tossing out statements, make sure you got your facts to back them up bird brain. The inteview it self was pretty much Gavin talking piss and shit. He even had the nerve to call Black Sabbath horrible, that git.
@olibjorn sorry bitch, touched a nerve about mommas career did I? Shame you aresuch a pigsmickey as I too love Soundgarden, AIC etc far more than Bush...
Well I feel sorry for your momma for giving birth to you, the filthy vermin you are. But I am sure that if you and your mom would team up ( she sucking dicks and you giving rim jobs), it would only take you 1 year to even Gavin's cash base.
@olibjorn that took you a long time to compose, didn't it. At least get your own angle instead of stealing mine... When you have met the man you can form an opinion, until then stay on your frozen little 3rd world rock
At least I have a life, I do not spend all my time on line as you seem to do. And my apologies for the late reply. I thought you english were supposed to be gentlemen and all. How wrong you prove that. All I did was make a comment on music and you had to go and insult my mother. You are truly pathetic and NOT an man.

However, it wasn't popular amongst 13yo girls - the market you need to corner if you want to get in the charts....
I never said BritPop was good - just popular (they're generally mutually exclusive).
The UK was not brainwashed - 13YO girls WERE! You only have to get inside 13YO girls heads to sell singles. There was (and still is) a very diverse music scene in general.
IMO Oasis has proven to be the LEAST original band to emerge from BritPop - a whole series of albums little different from the last (save for a couple of the most recent tracks).
lols. haha. ill take your word for it. im not a follower of their music and i dont live in the uk either. haha. but when i heard these songs by blur and ash they sounded like crape. how in the world did they ever get a record label they lack hooks in their music. but obviously uk has a extremely wide range of music. they influenced and started everything. just brit pop was a pile of shit.
@rockandroll4life1 because British music fans are fucking sheep who like what the press and tv tell them is cool. Oasis aren't fit to carry these guys guitars for them, but were huge. He sounds fuck alllike Kurt whatsoever, that fucker from Offspring does however.. Gavin sounds so English, Kurt must have been the faker! Speaking as english 90's rock fan (AIC etc)
@rockandroll4life1 I know, i live in the U.K and ive got all my mates into Bush haha. But NME said that they dont give a shit about Bush because thats not what the people in the UK are listening to. What a Piss Stain
@bobshouse123 Yeah, they were hated in England, as everyone thought that they sounded like Nirvana (which they did) and were engaging in full scale musical graverobbing. It was a bit unfair, as actually sounding like Nirvana is a skill in itself (most of the bands that are accused of sounding like Nirvana, such as nickelback, Staind and millions of others, are actually copying Alice in Chains, Ten era Pearl Jam or a band like them, as they are Hard rock and much easier to copy than Nirvana)
@Hahnmaier Now that you mention it. This looks like a Nirvana vid. He looks to even play the same guitar and have the same haircut (abet curly) and the drummer has no shirt on (SLTS) lol
heroin is cunt shit. all it makes is dead rock stars. and who can make good music when u r dead. look up lane staily on wikki and that will let u know how good skag is
The misogynistic epithet notwithstanding, and I'm no fan of heroin, but, uhm, I guess Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithful, etc, etc, etc, are all dead and shit, right?
Because some of their best music came out of heroin.
@ramonthe3rd thats not even the slightest bit funny or sharp. so let me give you a sayinwitch isnt revered to in the dictionary but might imply to your life very well, it goes something like this: go fuck yourself
Am now a fully fledged goth but i started off listening to bands like these, Thank you soo much cause now i'm happy if it wasnt for these bands i would be listening to Britney, thankyou for opening up my mind and ears to the wonderous music :)
You know you're knob when you make your screen name after that of an artist. Bush was ok, but they failed like most bands. No test of time for them, or Soundgarden. Unfortunately, I'd rather have 1,000 fail bands of yesterday than one "Hit" from the garbage they are trying to spoon feed our youth. If I see one more white kid that thinks he's black CAUSE MAINSTREAM MEDIA TOLD HIM IT WAS OK, I WILL MOVE TO FRANCE WITH THE REST OF THE PUSSIES....

@rockandroll4life1
Really? They weren't?
bobshouse123 1 year ago

@Hahnmaier
and have you noticed that he never ever mentions Cobain.. ever!

heroin is cunt shit. all it makes is dead rock stars. and who can make good music when u r dead. look up lane staily on wikki and that will let u know how good skag is
theagk19781 2 years ago
The misogynistic epithet notwithstanding, and I'm no fan of heroin, but, uhm, I guess Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithful, etc, etc, etc, are all dead and shit, right?
Because some of their best music came out of heroin.

I don't know why people feel the need to label bands and put them in a genre. You either like it or you don't!

its like this: "sing for your king, i dont want him singing with him, i want her singing with him instead, that would sound better to my ears."

most real bands suck, you have to synthesis em'

Also, Gwen Steffani is an OC sell-out, like all of the other "Punk" bands that were spawned out here....
GovGenMarcusKerensky 2 years ago
You know you're knob when you make your screen name after that of an artist. Bush was ok, but they failed like most bands. No test of time for them, or Soundgarden. Unfortunately, I'd rather have 1,000 fail bands of yesterday than one "Hit" from the garbage they are trying to spoon feed our youth. If I see one more white kid that thinks he's black CAUSE MAINSTREAM MEDIA TOLD HIM IT WAS OK, I WILL MOVE TO FRANCE WITH THE REST OF THE PUSSIES....

Right, this song brings back good old memories, and the album was a hit with many good songs. No surprise a (hot) Gwen Stefani is having his kids.
