  • Never gets old.

  • 2:38 - 2:53, Lani Hall has gone and Gracinha Leporace is in the image as a member of Brazil now 77.

    She would be Sergio's wife.

  • Lovely! This song brings back beautiful memories!

  • Love this tune. Thanks for posting

  • Lani Hall is the wife of Herb Alpert (Tijuana Brass). They met each other when Lani was crooner of Sergio Mendes Band

  • I have forgotten how wonderful Janis Hansen is and how beautiful she and Lani Hall truly were. Their style of music is sadly forgotten. Thank goodness we have YouTube to help us remember how wonderful they both were.

  • When the movie above reaches the minute mark (and a little before), it shows a picture of girl who looks a lot like a skinny Janis Joplin What does she have to do with this song or this topic? Other than it was an exciting time when we had both of them on the charts and over the airwaves. This is a wonderful song., Nocaro. Thank you very much for sharing it..

  • @quakercityjohn The picture does look a little like Joplin but it was identified as Lani Hall.

  • @quakercityjohn I strongly agree with you. It really looks like Janis Joplin. It definitively doesn't look like Lani Hall.

  • @hardbossa That's Google images for you. Ask for one thing, get another. The Google image database confused Janis Joplin with Janis Hansen. I know because I tried a search for Janis Hansen, and that Joplin shot came up. It produced a page of 20 or more images, some but not all correct.. You can't trust Google to always be correct.

  • @quakercityjohn Thanks for the kind explanation. It is very difficult to get Janis Hansen images. You can get only some images of her in some few official studio pictures of the group, some very few pictures of the group presentations, and on record covers. Photos of her alone is totally impossible yo get, unless on her personal heap. All the best, hardbossa

  • Extremely beautiful pop music. Back in the '60s they knew how to do it and do it right. Nowadays pop's a totally different animal--overproduced without sophistication (like this tune has) and in some cases histrionic oversinging instead of careful nuance (which this also has)--which is not to say there isn't good stuff now, but I'm old enough to remember when a lot more of it was top-notch...

  • big, big fan of the mendes/brasil '66 ensemble......saw them in Japan where I was a DJ in armed forces..and of course playing the steam out of this group..ty

  • A wonderful song that features great vocals by both Hall and Hansen.
