I gotta ask, even though some people will probably call me an idiot for needing to, but as the audio sounds exactly like the studio cut, and, as one other prat of a commenter noted, is cut, I'm assuming this is the studio take dubbed on the tv performance. I don't think they did that in the late 60's but I wasn't around then, so my question is, is this the audio as it was broadcasted, or was it dubbed on later?

All TV shows of this type were lip-synched (or mimed as it used to be called) If you want to see it live check out the Rock and Roll circus or watch the film by Luc Godard which shows them making the record. It evolved out of a fairly slow laidback tune which had its beat changed to the now familiar song.
