he uses two rock customs not fenders unfortunately. i think he uses them exclusively when he plays live. the only amp ive heard thats got as good cleans as a fender probably better. but yeah its probably the tape echo or any analog delay for that matter.

Its a Duesenberg Multi Bender Double Cat. Has tones similar to the old Gretsch or Rickenbacker semi hollow bodied guitars. For those with a semi hollow guitar like a Guild Starfire or Gibson ES 335 and Class A tube amps, roll up the treble a bit, up on the mids a smidge above the treble, and down the lows, and you can get real close to his tone. Too bad the Duesenbergs are just way over priced right now!
