  • I love this version the best even better than the studio version, she is sooo great.

  • I remember watching this for the first time when I was 12 years old back in 1995 and all I can say ,this is one of the best most well put together scene the movie ,I'm 28 now and this movie still kicks ass to me and this scene will never get old .

  • @3981supersonic i know man. i was 14 when i first saw this 4 years ago and this scene made me want to play the saxophone. now i'm trying to make it into a career

  • Freedom !

  • the only thing that could made this scene better ms aretha through all of the guys out the and telling never come back!!

  • 52 people are on a mission from satan

  • @MrCooper088 spelling error

  • 52 people need to go back to their heavy metal shit pages.

  • This song and every song in movie are fantastic. Every song in that movie is singed with Soul and feeling. My father is musician, and every time i listen to music from this movie, seeing reaction of band members, how they toss everything aside to join the Blues brothers, i see my father and his love to music and joy in hart when he preform on stage.

  • 52 people didn't think.

  • 240p we meet again

  • No chickens were harmed in the making of this movie.

(They were afraid someone would cry foul.)

  • Frickin' fantastic!

  • Don't mess with Aretha!!!!!!!

  • i like and you

  • I remember growing up and watching this and telling my dad "Who does she think she is? Aretha Franklin!?" and he was like "Son, that IS Aretha Franklin" -Facepalm-

  • Really people it isn't that hard to sync music with a video! Sad. Aretha rocks!

  • 52 deaf people???

  • i hate it when the video is out of sync...that being said- Aretha is a fantastic singer...I love the The original Blues Brothers movie. Ray Charles is the best musician of all these great artists.

  • is it me, or is it impossible to listen to this song without turning into a sassy black woman?

  • We're on a mission from GOD !!! Gimme two whole chickens and some dry white toast ! CLASSIC!!!!

  • @madmattymayhem Four whole chickens and a coke...

  • This is one of my favorite songs from Aretha Franklin. And I love the Blues Brothers, the only thing is that the song and the video are out of sync.

  • @jarededwards Con una voce come Aretha, non è un problema!!!

  • Besides Jennifer Hudson, I can't think of a woman with Aretha's power and clarity in modern pop music.

  • People from SOPA and PIPA should listen to this song, and... "Think what you're trying to do to me" :D

  • Always cracks me up, even after all these years, to see the brothers & Blue Lou join in her song & dance that she does to scold Matt & them.

  • This woman can sing. All you 'Diva's' can shove it.

  • What the hell! 50 idiots dislike the queen of soul! Shame shame! What were ya doing here in the 1st place?

  • One of my favorite songs from the movie.

    But...

John Lee Hooker VS Aretha Franklin. Winner?

  • What is the dong that BB King does before they enter the café? Bugging me all week :(

  • Comment removed

  • i didnt know they did a potato version of a dvd recorder.... awesome movie though! will always be one of the best

  • does anyone know the blues styles played in the movie ??

  • She had to lip sing this. It is because she never sings a song the same twice. She sang this but it was played multiple times during the playbacks.

  • @5620103893 No musician can really sing the same song twice so it's understandable :)

  • Aretha Franklin is really amazing here. This song can´t be easy to sing.

  • lol people at 0:29 are unphased by this musical number

  • 48 people got their fried chicken trampled by the saxophone player

  • @msanniemc

Don't forget the dry white toast.

  • one of my favorite scenes.....wish it was better quality

  • This is how all couples argue in the Blues Brothers universe.

  • This is my free-from-stress song!

I listened to this once I finished my semester.

  • I wish current music was like this.

  • I'm a man and I'm not ashamed to say that when I hear Aretha on the radio I sing along

  • @hoganfan200 You should be ashamed if you didn't do it! Aretha <3 Coming from a fellow man! :D

  • Dat Bass............

  • Best singer in the universe

  • umm ._. why does she start saying freedom when shes trying to cage her husband there

  • beste liedje ooit the blues brothers en aretha franklin top thumbs op in 2011

  • She hasn't got pancreatic cancer guys. That was just a pathetic rumour. She had something else though I don't know what it was. It is definetely not pancreatic cancer. She said it herself.

  • The Blues Brothers? Sh*t, they still owe you money, fool!

  • Ciao Ruggero must die

  • Aretha actually looks really pretty in this. Love you Aretha!

  • great song..!!! bery god

  • .......i only wanted some dry white toast......

  • 1970年代のgospelqueenだ。。。。。。。。。。最高。。。。。。。。。。

  • the blues brothers were just thinkin: "I just want to order a burger"

  • @lukeiamyourfaja actually its a piece of dry white toast,4 fried chickens and a coke

  • Great Music

  • Ray Charles? Best Musician In Bluez Broz? Or Lee Hooker?

  • @MrSamkino Tough call, Sam. If James, John, and Aretha were to look me in the eye and ask me that, I'd have to say "You all win." Damn, I miss the days when real music like this was appreciated. Props.

  • @MrSamkino Two great musicians, but Aretha Franklin was probably bigger than either of them... so i'd say her

  • @Ao3Dash ha was no were near as big as ray charles he is like a god of music idiot

  • @IStennaI Dude, i'm not gunna talk about the success of any musician wether it be commercial or otherwise with somebody that refers to said musician as "he is like a god of music"

  • @MrSamkino There was no best one. Each and everyone was the right one for the moment.

  • @MrSamkino . what my man Cab!

  • @MrSamkino My vote for Cab & Aretha... but why the competition? They were all great!

  • @MrSamkino ...incorrect question Mr. Samkino...we DON'T and can't and further it is disrespectful to compare those two legends. Peace

  • @MrSamkino

    Steve Cropper?

  • @MrSamkino HOOKER any time any where!!!!

  • @MrSamkino There wasn't a "best" musician in The Blues Brothers. They were all the best musicians in the industry. From Cab Calloway to Donald Duck Dunn...greats one and all.

  • @MrSamkino thats a hard one to call

  • @MrSamkino I vote Ray Charles 2012!

  • Cancer huh, then die already!

  • I can't believe Tulisa has NEVER HEARD of this song?! I'm shocked.

  • Awesome fucking film. Lots of big names and I doubt that there will be another production like it. A remake????? How many big names would be prepared not to big limelight hoggers. Somethings are best left untouched and this film might be just one of those iconic 'leave me alone' productions. Who would play Ray Charles, Lee Hooker, Aretha etc etc. Just a thought.

  • 44 people just suck!

  • TULISA COSTAVLOS I "THINK" I DONT KNOW YOU, GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

  • @britturk123 does she live under a rock? she said on twitter that her parents played songs from up to the 40s but not this. Has she never listened to the radio? spotify? I just don't understand how a normal person, never mind a professional musician has never heard of this!?

  • @thedancinggymnast I think even if you lived under a rock aretha would have got to you somehow lol. But what is most annoying is that they know what songs the contestants are doing so google the bloody song and dont make yourself look like a total idiot infront of millions of people, Aretha franklin is like the gold seal of popular music i would never openly admit that any of her songs are not known because the whole world knows aretha franklin you may not have heard that song but millions have.

  • They just don't make movies like this anymore.

  • Thumbs up if you loved watching the blues brothers dancing

  • She's really saying, "If you ever want to have sex with me again, you'd better choose wisely."

  • I forgot how much I love this song and scene. Musically and theatrically this is as really good as it gets. Don't bother disagreeing, cause you'd just be wrong.

  • My aunt is a splitting image of her...... *twitch*

  • Why? Why? Why?

Why can we not make movies like this anymore? What happened? Where did we loose it?!

Aretha Franklin. John Belushi. Dan Akroyd.

    Legends.

  • This was obviously the warm up to fighting Rocky and facing aliens somewhere abroad. Antything is easier than upsetting Arethra.

After a bollocking like that in song the guy does well.

    Respect.

  • We're on a mission from God, ma'am

  • youtube di meeeeeeerda... ma ke si tagliano così i video

  • "They still owe you money, fool"!

  • listen to that bass, ohh yea

  • Great camera angle at :34. Love how the boys can't resist dancing at 1:13 even though their man is getting owned by Aretha. Nice. Love it. After all these years.

  • Holland, Dozier, Holland.........

  • Let you'r hair down sax man....& Jam

    !

  • man this is how you handle a domestic FREEDOM!

  • @FirstClassSkeptic

You are an uninformed racist. Oh wait, all racists are uninformed.

  • @kpix99 Oh, you're just anti-semitic. You can't stand to hear the truth. Al Abrams was the first paid employee at Motown. He was the publicist and press agent. He was jewish. He's the one that got Motown started. Research it yourself and then you can become informed like me.

  • @FirstClassSkeptic

How many songs did Al write? Could he play bass? Could he sing? Al joined Motown as a kid, and did his job, just like everyone else. How about enjoying the music without throwing darts.

  • @kpix99 Music? What music?

The Negroes are nothing without jewish promotion.

  • @FirstClassSkeptic and the yids are nothing without the black musicians who earned them lots of cash..

  • @FirstClassSkeptic Lmao. did you come up with that in your gas chamber?

  • how epic it would be if this scene were from cheech and chong...

  • DAT ASS

  • One of my favs SLM

  • Suuper !

  • 43 people are racists. Thank God I'm not.

  • This is MOTOWN not the crap coming out of there today!

  • there's any way you can post a version in sync....is a shame is out.

About the movie/singer/musician what can I say...kill justin bieber!

  • 4 fried chickens and a Coke.

  • Hoooooooo!!!!....

    The Best !!!...

    @Beppe

  • cult....

  • lol at the bros unenthusiastically dancing along.

  • there are 39 son of a bitch that dont have any fucking idea of music

  • @juninlv

well, its pretty out of sync, maybe thats the reason

  • I play this song in Pep band

  • Anyone else notice the music doesn't match the action on screen?

  • i'd like four fried chickens and a coke.

  • @skinnyshit8888 I'd like some dry white toast.

  • Great song, and great scene. Too bad they weren't in synch.

  • The song was awesome, but you know what made it even better than it would normally be? Jake and Elwood, two of three white people in there, just lurking in the back, then they start dancing.

  • Now that's what I call THE VOICE!

  • Get Case freedom now at participating locations!

  • Oh what a great voice

  • damn that girl had a set of pipes on her

  • hermoso

  • WOW.... two of the best movies ever ..... The Blues Brothers and Animal House. John Belushi, oh hell yes =)

  • @Moonchalice i grew up during the 80 blue brother is only my fav 80 movies all time

  • Someone should synchronize the audio channel...

  • @VelvetViolator Even in the movie this song is really out of sync (lip syncd)

  • Aretha Franklin is Amazing!!!!

  • ''DIG'' This upload.

  • aretha es superrrr

  • THINK!

  • @freyml, don't forget James Brown in the Church.

  • WOW! Anybody else remember THE POWER OF MOTOWN?

Man you would hear Aretha and couldn't do nothin' else but

    DANCE!

The sheer ENERGY of this music was and is AWESOME!

  • @GooglFascists Aretha was not a motown artist. I agree that this music is awesome, but don't get confused, there were tons of great soul and r&b outside of the motown label :)
