"Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
@l337pwnage God loves you man, he doesn't want you to be a slave. It's for freedom that Christ has set you free, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Conforming to God's order is remarkably freeing. Plus, its the Holy Spirit who does the work anyway, we just have to cooperate. It's an amazing deal that Jesus paid the price for. I used to do mushrooms and smoke weed and drink, and it was really fun at the time, but having a relationship with Jesus is more satisfying for sure
@Ruggles3 While I do very much enjoy ranting and raving when the opportunity presents itself, I thought I was pretty clear in my response.
Take my words literally, I'm similar to what is called a "teetotaler". Alcohol, pot, tobacco, god, whatever, don't interest me at all. I see no benefit to them.
Additionally, I dislike religion more because alcohol, pot, etc, don't promise to punish you for not drinking/smoking/etc. them, while religion does attempt to threaten you for not following.
@l337pwnage Interesting. I think that if you read the Bible you would understand better the situation that have ourselves in right now. But, you would have to be reading without prejudice, and it seems you are past that point. Otherwise, I guess you can continue to live in your opinions and see how that turns out, but I would recommend at least considering seeking the Lord with an honest heart. I think you would be surprised at who God is and what He wants for you.
@l337pwnage Thanks for continuing to respond to my posts. No more questions from me! I appreciate you taking the time for this conversation. Take care.
That's a pretty odd line to end the video on. Either cut the last 10sec out, or extend it until he was fully done with his next point.

a preacher talking about being a slave to a lifestyle??? can you say IRONY?

We're all slaves to one of two lifestyles before God-
Romans 6:16-18
"Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

You can just cut out the words in the middle and say, "We're all slaves before God".

@Ruggles3 The god drug, it is a popular one.

Unfortunately, chemical dependencies do not work on me, I'm sure that is why the god drug does not either.
And christianity's immorality makes it unacceptable to me.

@l337pwnage yikes, man. You seem very bitter about this. Why the strong feelings?

@Ruggles3 lol, like many atheists, I've read it cover to cover. What an incredible waste of time.
The bible is irrelevant to modern society.

And it is immoral in any society.
