I tend to veer in a more veggie/vegan direction out of ethical concerns, but I understand that it would be different under different conditions.

I don't think the fact we ate meat back then justifies eating it now really, but I can see both sides of this :)

@hoppimike look i agree with some of the things vegans say about a change in farming practices and im always up 4 a civilized discussion about how we can make changes and about our differing povs.but i draw the line when i get a vegan/n looking down on me because of my diet, calling me a murderer ...like i said i got nothing against the lifestyle diet...but the extremist fundementalist views which most vegans seem to have well...i just leave it at that...

I mean it's a bit like if you were walking along and you saw someone like, murdering another person or doing something else you might disagree with ethically such as dumping toxic waste... would you just walk past and go "well, ok, it's up to them what they do!" lol

I think that's the difference - vegans often have ethical issues with meat, and that is very different to dietary concerns such as regarding wheat or legumes.

The fish is giving it's life for the preservation of a human, that's not at all weird, elite military special forces around the world thank the animal they are about to kill out of respect and upon doing so they actually relax and make the animal feel as comfortable as possible.

Humans need to be more respectful.
