Yes this does sound like Jackson Five's "ABC." It was intended to. Maurice Starr, who wrote the song, wanted to build New Edition as an 80's reincarnation of The Jackson Five. It worked for a little while, until the boys of New Edition grew up and Bobby Brown started screwing things up!
